Hi Stampers. Valentine’s Day is coming… Are you ready? I just love Valentine’s Day! My birthday is the 6th, so I love to celebrate from then until the 14th. One of my favorite grade school memories was about Valentine’s Day. I was bummed that Mom got flowers etc for Valentine’s Day and I didn’t. My Dad was always a quiet guy – unless you got him mad – but that’s another story… That Valentine’s Day my Dad brought how a little African Violet plant just for me. I remember feeling so special! Do you have any fun memories of Valentine’s Day?
Today I have a cute little pairing for you. A card and Tootsie Pop holder made using the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper, the Meant To Be stamp set and the Heart Punch pack. I just LOVE that our Designer Series Papers designed for holidays have the holiday on one side and something generic on the other side. If I don’t use up all my DSP for a holiday – there is always the other side for a non-holiday card.
Isn’t this a cute little set? I started with the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper. Choosing this paper gave me my color palette – Whisper White, Flirty Flamingo and Real Red. I then added the Meant to Be stamp set, because the small sentiments fit well into the heart I punched out of the DSP using the Scalloped Heart Punch from the new Heart Punch Pack. Another great thing about our DSP papers – they often have a design that can be punched or die cut out with the coordinating products!
This card uses a Flirty Flamingo card base and a 2-1/4″ backing of Cherry Cobbler CS to go behind my 2″ strip of DSP.
The heart was punched out of the DSP – the scalloped heart punch from the Heart Punch Pack fit perfectly. I then stamped the sentiment from the Meant to Be stamp set into the middle of the heart (in Cherry Cobbler ink) and adhered it to my card front using stampin’ dimensionals.
I stamped the sentiment and floral pieces using Cherry Cobbler ink onto a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Whisper White CS and adhered it to the inside of my card.
Just because we are now adults, doesn’t mean we can’t hand out Valentine’s to our friends (or even people we encounter while running errands – store clerk, bank teller, hairdresser – you get the idea).
These are super easy to make out of a 2″ strip of CS and the Scallop Tag Topper Punch. I added a coordinating DSP heart to match the card and added the tootsie pop and some ribbon. (If you require further instruction – check out this video on my YouTube channel by clicking HERE).
