Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop Badge

Hi Stampers. Welcome back for another blog hop with my Global Stamping Friends.  Today’s hop is entitled Leaves & Vines… so expect lots of greenery…  It’s really cold her in Idaho already, so my leaves are frozen!

Stampin' Up! Moonlit Winter Woods ink blending card by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

This card starts with a standard 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ card base scored at 4-1/4″ in Misty Moonlight CS. For the main front layer I used Whisper White CS and did some ink blending with my new Stampin’ Up! ink blending brushes!  I used a scrap piece of CS (approx 4″ x 5″) and die cut a large circle out of the center using the layering circle dies and my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine and used both pieces as a template to do my ink blending.

Stampin’ Tip: Have you heard that Stampin’ Up! will have ink blending brushes in the new January to June Mini catalog?  They are pretty awesome!  You want some!

First, I placed the die cut circle in the center of my Whisper White layer and using the blending brushes to blend Seaside Spray ink around the edges of the circle and Misty Moonlight ink after that working my way to the edges.  Then I removed the circle and used the negative to place over the blue inks allowing me to blend some Daffodil Delight around the outside edges of the circle area. I left the center of the circle white and stamped the trees (from the Winter Woods stamp set) over the top in Night of Navy ink.

For the snowbanks along the bottom of the card front I used Whisper White CS and die cut it using the Curvy Dies.  Don’t worry, if you don’t have those you can easily cut the slopes using paper snips.  They were then glued to the card front. The leaves (from the Harvest Hellos stamp set) were stamped in Seaside Spray and Misty Moonlight inks and then I used the blending brushes over them. Using the Apple Builder Punch to punch the leaves out. I tucked the leaves into the snowbanks and then used Shimmery Crystal Effects along the edges of the snowbanks.

Inside the card is pretty simple.  I sponged Seaside Spray and Misty Moonlight inks around the top and Daffodil Delight ink around the bottom.  The sentiment, from the Winter Woods stamp set, is stamped in Night of Navy ink.  I love how it came out!  These new ink blending brushes are awesome!
