Hi Stampers. I know the younger generation doesn’t do much snail mail, but they don’t know what they are missing out on!  In grade school we once had an assignment where we had to write back and forth with a pen pal. My cousins and grandmother used to send letters to me and I would write back.  It was fun and we did them in cursive – another thing of the past. 🙁

I love this snail mail card becasue it’s bright and cheery.  If you got this in the mail, how could you not smile?  Especially when all you usually find in the the mail box is ads and bills.

My card starts with a Coastal Cabana card base. Using Coastal Cabana ink, I stamped the snail mail saying and the snail on the front of the card.  A 2-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ strip of Bermuda Bay CS and a 2-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ strip of Basic White CS. Next, I used the Rectangle Postage Stamp and punched the Snailed It DSP three times. The postage stamp was stamped in Coastal Cabana ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends.

Stampin’ Tip: You can save yourself some cardstock by using two 1/2″ x 5-1/2″ strips of Bermuda Bay CS (instead of the 2-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ piece). Just adhere one to the top and one to the bottom of the the Basic White strip.  This makes it appear as if there is full layer of CS under it.

I used my ruler – with the 0 in the middle (see below for amazon link) – to evenly space the punched out pieces.  The DSP ones were adhered using Stampin’ Seal, while the Basic White stamped one is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Inside the snail mail card is a layer of Basic White CS with the snail stamped in the center with Coastal Cabana ink and colored with the Stampin’ Blends.

Here is an alternate version of my snail mail card, where the stamped “postage stamp” is stamped in Real Red ink.  Which do you like better?
