Stampin' Pretty Pals Blog Hop Badge

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! Ready to sprinkle some holiday magic into your crafting this season? This month’s theme, Season’s Greetings, is all about celebrating the joy of handmade creations. The Stampin’ Pretty Pals have come together to share festive cards and paper craft ideas using our favorite Stampin’ Up! products — each project designed to inspire your creativity and help you capture the spirit of the season. For this blog hop, I have created an impressive Gatefold Card with an expanding center. Be sure to visit each participant’s blog — you’ll find the full list at the end of this post so you can easily hop along and enjoy all the inspiration!

Stampin' Up! Gatefold Card with expanding center by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

I made a festive gatefold card using Real Red layered onto Old Olive, then wrapped a length of Real Red ribbon and sandwiched it between the layers so the ribbon stays neatly in place. The front is dressed with Traditions of Christmas Designer Series Paper for a classic holiday look that’s perfect for a handmade Christmas card.

The focal panel of my gatefold card is Old Olive topped with Basic White, and I created three ornaments from scrap circles using a 2″ punch for the shapes and a 1-3/4″ white circle for the stamped greeting. I stamped the sentiment from the Traditional Labels stamp set in Old Olive for a crisp, coordinating finish.

When you open the gatefold card the center expands into an accordion-style feature built from more Traditions of Christmas DSP mounted on Old Olive, which creates a fun pop of dimension inside the card. I added fussy-cut flowers from the DSP to the lifting layers and included another ornament with a white layer so there’s space for an extra greeting.

Beneath the accordion the base layer is Basic White with a narrow strip of DSP across the bottom, and I stamped additional sentiments in Real Red and Old Olive for balance and color continuity. The result is a layered, interactive holiday card that showcases paper crafting techniques like punching, fussy cutting, and creating an expanding center.
