Hi Stampers. Happy Monday, my friends. Today I have a 4″ x 4″ Perfectly Plaid card to share with you that features out Mercury Glass Acetate. (Note: The silver color is retired, but the Hydrangea Hill Mercury Glass Acetate is still available and while it’s purple or pink on the main side, it’s silver on the back – so you could use it upside down.)
This square card starts with a 4″ x 8″ piece of Garden Green CS, scored at 4″. Next up is a 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ layer of Mercury Glass Acetate. Next, I cut a square of DSP and a square of Basic White CS to layer on the front of the card.
As the focal point, I used the Pine Tree Punch to punch out a Garden Green and an Acetate tree and glued the two together. Baker’s twine was tied in a bow around the base of the tree and then it was added to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Inside the card, I decided to use the same size and types of layers – the Mercury Glass Acetate, DSP and then Basic White CS. The sentiment, from Perfectly Plaid, was stamped in the center in Garden Green ink.
BONUS CARD:
Here is a similar card I made a while back. It uses several products that are now retired, but I did want to share the idea with you. Did you know that the Acetate sheets can be used as the card base itself?
This cute little 3″ x 3″ card was made using the Mercury Glass Acetate as the card base. I used the (retired) Stitched Shapes Dies to die cut a square of (Penguin Playmates) DSP and a slightly smaller square of Basic White CS. The sentiment, from Snowflake Wishes was stamped in Fresh Freesia ink.
Inside the card I die cut a piece of the DSP the same size as on the front and a slightly smaller Basic White square of CS. A few snowflakes from the Snowflake Wishes stamp set were stamped in Fresh Freesia ink.
Because you can see though the acetate and the DSP had a pattern on the other side, I used a piece of Fresh Freesia CS die cut to the same size to used on the back side to cover it up. I did this on the back of both the front of the card and the inside of the card.
