The news as of late has made is hard to go about as if life is “normal”. I wanted to make an encouragement card for us all. So I dug into my Charming Sentiments bundle and pulled out these sentiments with the wish of bringing some hope – Faith over Fear.
Today’s encouragement card starts with a Basic Gray card base followed by a layer of watercolor paper. I stamped onto the watercolor paper using the Oceanfront stamp set. Using a water painter, I brushed over the background stamping, then I stamped the plants and birds.
The sentiment, from Charming Sentiments is stamped onto watercolor paper and die cut with the coordinating Sentiment Silhouettes. This was then adhered to the card front using stampin’ dimensionals.
Inside the card is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ Basic White layer. Several cards back, I made a template using the Basic Borders die and some of the DSP backing paper. I used this template and the blending brushes with Balmy Blue ink to make a sky and added a few birds. (the bird I used was from the Waves of Inspiration stamp set, but any birds will do and it’s also easy to draw this type with a Basic Black pen). More sand, rocks and plants from the Oceanfront stamp set were stamped across the bottom. Finally, the sentiment (from Charming Sentiments) was stamped in the center in Memento Black ink.
