Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Hope Box

Hi Stampers. Welcome to this months Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop. This month we are featuring the Hope Box, designed by our co-founder, Shelly Gardner.  This kit makes some beautiful cards, but our purpose is to show you alternative ideas to do with this kit. Follow along and be inspired.

Above is a photo of what we were given in our kit.

I used our Mercury Glass Accetate as my card base, 4″ x 8″, scored at 4″.

I then used two of the pieces, from the Hope Box Paper Pumpkin kit, with the gradient colors on it and cut them square.  They were 3-1/8″ wide, so I made them 3-1/8″ tall, too.

Using the Blackberry Bliss ink and the largest stamp, I stamped the sentiment onto the front of my card. Next I added a few of the butterflies with glue dots and added the sequins on top of them.

Inside the card is the other gradient layer followed by a stitched square of Basic White CS. I created this square using the Stitched Rectangle dies by cutting the rectangle first. Then positioning the die where it would make it a square and running it though the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine a second time.

Case Insert:

Did you know that you can keep your Paper Pumpkin stamp sets in the same style stamp cases that our regular stamps come in?  We sell those empty and provide you with the case insert, just for that reason!  Keep yourself organized. 🙂

Hope Box Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop

Hi Stampers. Welcome back to a Crafty Collaborations Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop. This month we are inspired by the Hope Box Paper Pumpkin kit. Good news – if you missed out on this one – you can still get it!  While supplies last of course…

Stampin' Up! Hope Box Paper Pumpkin Alternatives August 2021 by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

I used my Hope Box Paper Pumpkin kit to make an alternative card and decorate a Mini Paper Pumpkin Box.

Stampin' Up! Hope Box Paper Pumpkin Alternatives August 2021 by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

Above is a photo of what came in the kit.  You may notice that it has multiple languages. Personally, I don’t have a need for the pieces with the other languages, BUT I was able to use those parts anyway!

Stampin' Up! Hope Box Paper Pumpkin Alternatives August 2021 by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

Do you see my label in the middle of this card?  It’s made up of two of the labels in a non-English language.  I stamped the word hope on the back of one and cut a second one in half and adhered it to the first one to create a border.

Stampin' Up! Hope Box Paper Pumpkin Alternatives August 2021 by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

Because the back label was cut in half there was a small gap on the sides of the label. To cover this up, I used the Label Me Fancy punch to punch a slot of each side.

Stampin' Up! Hope Box Paper Pumpkin Alternatives August 2021 by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

For my card base, I used one of the pink bases from the Hope Box Paper Pumpkin kit. The layers are also front the kit and were already pre-cut and ready to go, making this super easy!

Stampin' Up! Hope Box Paper Pumpkin Alternatives August 2021 by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

Next, I used the 3/8″ Blushing Bride frayed ribbon to feed though the slots, wrap around the small layer (from the Hope Box Paper Pumpkin kit) and attach on the back of this layer. This layer is then attached to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals (so the ribbon attached on the back would not bulge). As an accent, I attached three of the small butterflies (from the Hope Box Paper Pumpkin kit) and three Opal Rounds to the card front.

Using the stamps from the Hope Box Paper Pumpkin kit, I stamped the sentiment in Bermuda Bay ink and the Butterflies in Polished Pink ink on the inside.

I also decorated one of our Mini Paper Pumpkin Boxes with more pieces from the kit.  Covering the box is one of the pink card bases from the Hope Box Paper Pumpkin and some Pattern Party DSP.  The kit included the large butterfly and tag along with some wide Blackberrry Bliss ribbon to put around the regular box the kit came ink.  I substituted the smaller Blushing Bride ribbon to keep in scale with the smaller box.

Below is a line-up of the blogs on our hop today. Follow along and be inspired by all the talent in our group!

Paper Pumpkin Alternative – Northern Lights

Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop

Hi Stampers. I’m not much of a camper – absolutely NO TENTS!  But, I would make an exception and camp in a trailer somewhere that I can see the Northern Lights!  I’ve never seen them, but it’s on my bucket list!

Stampin' Up! Northern Lights Technique July 2021 Paper Pumpkin Adventure Awaits Alternative by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

When I first saw the July 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit (The Adventure Begins), my first thought was about this Northern Lights Technique. I have not perfected this technique yet, but I do love it.

Stampin' Up! Northern Lights Technique July 2021 Paper Pumpkin Adventure Awaits Alternative by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

My Northern Lights card started with a Misty Moonlight card base followed by a layer of Shimmery White CS. I used the blending brushes to apply the ink to create the Northern Lights and then splashed some watered down white ink to make the stars. Using the stamp set that came in the Adventure Beings Paper Pumpkin kit and the Stamparatus, I stamped a few trees in Memento Black ink onto the bottom of this layer.

Stampin' Up! Northern Lights Technique July 2021 Paper Pumpkin Adventure Awaits Alternative by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

Next, I added a strip of Soft Suede CS to act as the ground to set the trailer on. The trailer was cut out of the card base from the kit and added to this layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped two additional trees onto Shimmery White CS in Memento Black ink using the Stamparatus and cut them out using my Brother Scan N Cut. (A little sponging of black ink on the edges helped hide any white that may have been on an edge.)

Stampin’ Tip: When I’m stamping silhouette images or anything I want super dark, I use the Stamparatus.  The Stamparatus allows you to stamp over and over again in the exact same spot allowing you to build up the layers of ink making the image very dark.

Here is a close up of the Northern Lights technique and the stars.

Stampin' Up! Northern Lights Technique July 2021 Paper Pumpkin Adventure Awaits Alternative by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

Inside my Northern Lights card is a layer of Blackberry Bliss CS followed by a layer of Shimmery White CS. I used the blending brushes to swirl some ink along the top and sides and the tree stamp with Evening Evergreen ink to stamp the trees.  The sentiment, also from the Adventure Begins Paper Pumpkin kit is stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink.

Did you know that you can order empty stamp cases and that Paper Pumpkin provides us with a case insert each month? I love being able to keep all my stamps organized.

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Expressions in Color

Hi Stampers. Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog hop.  Today we are featuring the June Paper Pumpkin Kit – Expressions In Color.  I also have an additional alternative that I posted last Saturday.  See that one HERE.

The Expressions In Color kit came with all these wonderful pieces, which included two Stampin’ Spots!

Stampin' Up! June 2021 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Idea Card by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

I absolutely LOVE the alcohol ink card front, so I cut mine up so I could make more cards using that print. To make my card, I used a Gorgeous Grape card base and stamped the small flower in Gorgeous Grape ink all over the front of the card. Next, I cut a 1-3/4″ strip off the card front with the alcohol ink design and a 2″ strip of the Fresh Freesia off the back of that card base (from the kit).  I glued the two together and adhered them to my card front, toward the left side.

For my focal point, I stamped the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape ink onto the label (from the Expressions in Ink kit) and cut apart the die cuts to have them pop out from behind the label. The label is added to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Inside the card is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Basic White CS. I stamped the flower in the lower right corner and added the leftover strip of the alcohol ink pattern to the left side.

Did you know that Paper Pumpkin provides you with a case insert that fits perfectly into our empty stamp cases. You can purchase our stamp cases separately and keep yourself organized. 🙂

Expressions in Color Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop

Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop

Hi Stampers. It’s that time of the month again – Paper Pumpkin time!  This months kit is called Expressions in Color.  I’ve been excited about it ever since I saw the first graphics for it. This kit coordinates perfectly with the Artistically inked Suite.

For my Expressions in Color alternative, I used a Fresh Freesia card base 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″.  The card base was then scored and folded into an Arrow Fun Fold card. (links to directions below)

Stampin' Up! June 2021 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Idea Arrow Fold Card by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

Next, I used one of the card bases as my DSP layer for my card base and the back of that same card base (from the Expressions in Color kit) to cut the white layer for inside the card.

When I saw the vellum floral arrangement, I thought it looked an awful lot like the die from the Artistic Dies.  Sure enough, it matched up perfect!  Using another one of the card bases I die cut the another card front (from the Expressions in Color kit) using the large floral die and glued the two together.  They are then attached to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the greenery, I separated one of the green die cuts from the kit and tucked then in under the floral arrangement.

Inside the card, I stamped the sentiment “Sending Hugs” (from the Expressions in Color kit) in Fresh Freesia ink. I think it came out really pretty – what do you think?

You can see my other examples with this fold HERE and HERE.  Want to know how to make this card yourself?  Here is my YouTube video on how this fold is done – CLICK HERE

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Batter Up

Hi Stampers. I’m back with ANOTHER Batter Up!, Paper Pumpkin alternative card.  (You can see my other one HERE.)  Today’s card is for the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop.

Stampin' Up! Batter Up Paper Pumpkin alternative NY Yankee Jersey by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

When I first saw the card base with the navy pinstripes in the kit, I knew it was a New York Yankees jersey.

Stampin' Up! Batter Up Paper Pumpkin alternative NY Yankee Jersey by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

So, for today’s card, I used a thick Basic White card base and added a layer of Night of Navy CS to build my card on.

Stampin' Up! Batter Up Paper Pumpkin alternative NY Yankee Jersey by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

Using my trimmer, I trimmed off a piece of the striped card base for the shirt and a 3/4″ strip to make the sleeves from. A layering circle die made the half circle at the top of the shirt.  The baseball and bat are from the Batter Up! kit, too.

Stampin' Up! Batter Up Paper Pumpkin alternative NY Yankee Jersey by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

Once I had the jersey made, I knew it needed a number.  But, I don’t anything about the Yankees, other than the look of their uniform (lol).  Google to the rescue and I came up with #3 for Babe Ruth.  I cut the number using the Playful Alphabet Dies and the hat using the Hat Builder Dies.

Inside the card I stamped the sentiment (from the kit) in Night of Navy ink (from the kit). Using Soft Suede ink, I stamped a single bat in the lower right corner and promptly got an ink smudge right above it. Hence, the second bat coming in from the right – problem solved! LOL  Enjoy!
