Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Batter Up

Hi Stampers. I’m back with ANOTHER Batter Up!, Paper Pumpkin alternative card.  (You can see my other one HERE.)  Today’s card is for the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop.

Stampin' Up! Batter Up Paper Pumpkin alternative NY Yankee Jersey by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

When I first saw the card base with the navy pinstripes in the kit, I knew it was a New York Yankees jersey.

So, for today’s card, I used a thick Basic White card base and added a layer of Night of Navy CS to build my card on.

Using my trimmer, I trimmed off a piece of the striped card base for the shirt and a 3/4″ strip to make the sleeves from. A layering circle die made the half circle at the top of the shirt.  The baseball and bat are from the Batter Up! kit, too.

Once I had the jersey made, I knew it needed a number.  But, I don’t anything about the Yankees, other than the look of their uniform (lol).  Google to the rescue and I came up with #3 for Babe Ruth.  I cut the number using the Playful Alphabet Dies and the hat using the Hat Builder Dies.

Inside the card I stamped the sentiment (from the kit) in Night of Navy ink (from the kit). Using Soft Suede ink, I stamped a single bat in the lower right corner and promptly got an ink smudge right above it. Hence, the second bat coming in from the right – problem solved! LOL  Enjoy!

Batter Up Blog Hop

Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin Blog Hop

Hi Stampers. Today I’m hopping with the Crafty Collaborations group to show alternate uses for the Batter Up! Paper Pumpkin kit.  If you saw my post using the Hats Off bundle a few weeks ago (see that HERE), that you know our family is BIG into baseball!  So, I was really looking forward to playing with this one!

This is my card.  I used their card base as a regular layer on my Night of Navy card base.

I made my Batter Up card an easel card! I love how it came out! The Night of Navy card base is 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″ and 2-3/4″.

Then I added a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ layer over that. (Note: it’s only adhered on the bottom, so it allows the top to pop up.

It folds flat for mailing and stands up for display.

I used the baseball card from the kit and backed it on a layer of Real Red CS.

The baseball card layer is adhered to the front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Inside the card is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer made from the other half of the paper pumpkin card base from the kit. Using Real Red ink, I stamped the sentiment with the stamps from the Batter Up! kit. I added “grandpa” in Night of Navy ink.

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities So Cool

Hi Stampers.  Welcome to our Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop.  We are sharing alternate ideas for the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit. This months kit is – SO COOL!!!  Make sure you go to the bottom and click the next button to continue on to many more fabulous ideas!  If you ever get lost, there is a blog hop line up list provided for you, too.

Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin April 2021 So Cool Alternative fun fold card by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

This kit came with some adorable shaped cards, I chose to add a fun fold card base to mine. I have a 11″ x 4-1/4″ Old Olive card base scored at 5-1/2″.

On the card front I used a similar card base, upside down.  The Poppy Parade layer is 4″ x 10-1/2″, scored at 5-1/4″ and 2-5/8″.  You can see in the photo, how they go together.

Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin April 2021 So Cool Alternative fun fold card by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

On the back layer of my card front is the large watermelon card front. (It was a watermelon shaped card in the So Cool kit, I just cut off the front.) The sun was a sticker from the So Cool kit.

Using the Stitched Rectangle Dies, I die cut a layer of Basic White CS. Onto that layer I stamped the dots and sentiment onto it in Bermuda Bay ink. The watermelon was stamped in Memento Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends.

Inside the card is a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Basic White CS. On this layer I used the watermelon sticker in the lower right and the sun in the upper right, I snipped off excess with the paper snips before adhering the inside layer.  The “happy birthday” sentiment (also from the kit) is stamped in the center in Bermuda Bay ink.

Paper Pumpkin is Sending Hearts

Stampin' Up! Sending Hearts January 2021 Paper Pumpkin alternatives & stamp case insert by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

Hi Stampers.  My Sending Hearts paper pumpkin box arrived a little late for me to participate in the blog hops that I usually do each month, but I still wanted to give you an alternative idea and show you the add on and refill kits that match this kit!

Stampin' Up! Sending Love January 2021 Paper Pumpkin alternatives & stamp case insert by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

My alternative card is just a little different.  This kit came with printed card bases and I chose to score a line across the middle front of the card, to make it a prop up card.

Stampin' Up! Sending Love January 2021 Paper Pumpkin alternatives & stamp case insert by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

The focal point of my card is one of the pre-printed cards from the Sending Hearts kit, with the heart stamped in the middle using the Poppy Parade ink from the kit.

Stampin’ Tip: One of the tiny hearts at the bottom didn’t ink as well as I would have hoped, so I added one of the resin hearts from the kit over the top of it and then added a few more for accent. It wasn’t a mistake, it was “a chance to embellish”.

Stampin' Up! Sending Love January 2021 Paper Pumpkin alternatives & stamp case insert by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

This square was then mounted onto a square of Poppy Parade CS.  I added the black scallop element from the kit to the bottom of this focal point. When adhering the focal point to the card front, I was sure to add stampin’ seal only on the bottom half of the square, so it would not stick to the card front above the score line.

Stampin' Up! Sending Love January 2021 Paper Pumpkin alternatives & stamp case insert by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

I felt the inside of the card looked a little blank, so I lined it with a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Poppy Parade CS, followed by a 3-3/4″ x 5″ layer of Basic White CS.

Stampin' Up! Sending Love January 2021 Paper Pumpkin alternatives & stamp case insert by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

The inside sentiment is heat embossed in white onto a 3/4″ strip of Poppy Parade CS.  This strip was punched at both ends using the Pick a Banner Punch and mounted on stampin’ dimensionals, so it can prop up the front of the card.

This is the adorable stamp set that came in this months kit.  It’s exclusive to Paper Pumpkin, but coordinates with products from the regular Stampin’ Up! line.

PPP Blog Hop Jolly Gingerbread

Hi Stampers.  Welcome back for another Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop, where we show you alternative ideas with your monthly Paper Pumpkin kit by Stampin’ Up!  This month we are playing with the Jolly Gingerbread kit.  The kit made adorable little boxes shaped like gingerbread houses, you can see them in the video below, but I didn’t need those.  I needed cards – so that’s what I made.

Stampin' Up! Jolly Gingerbread Paper Pumpkin alternative project by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

My card is a fun fold called a landscape easel card.  This is the fold I used on my card yesterday for my Facebook Live class.  It will be on YouTube soon.  The card base is 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ Early Espresso CS, scored at 4-1/4″ and 6″.  I layered Soft Suede CS and Trimming the Town DSP over that.

Stampin' Up! Jolly Gingerbread Paper Pumpkin alternative project by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

This gave me a cute winter scene, in which to set my house.  Don’t you love how the path (on the DSP) leads right up to the door of my house?  All stamps used on this card are from the Jolly Gingerbread Paper Pumpkin Kit and I used Early Espresso ink. The house is colored using Stampin’ Blends and the fence is made using scraps of Whisper White CS that I punched out using the Classic Label punch.

Inside the card, I stamped on a Whisper White layer in Early Espresso ink. As a “stop” to hold the card open, I used the two smallest dies in the Stitched Nested Label Dies and die cut an Early Espresso and a Whisper White label.  They are attached with stampin’ dimensionals.

Doesn’t it look cute all propped up?  It was fun – how fast it all came together!

PPP Blog Hop Hello Pumpkin

Hi Stampers.  It’s that time again – time for another Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop. We bring you alternative ideas to use with your Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin each month.  While you may love the projects that Stampin’ Up! gives you – you may not.  But, have no fear, we are here to help!  Follow along and see LOTS of alternative projects.

Stampin! Up! September paper pumpkin alternative by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

I chose to make my own card bases and then use the pieces in the kit and the stamp set, to make my cards.

Stampin! Up! September paper pumpkin alternative by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

For the background on first card, I cut up one of the “crackers” and used the edges on the left and right side of my card front (adhered with Stampin’ Seal) and the center of the cracker in the center of my card front (adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals).

I stamped the sentiment in Cajun Craze ink onto a circle of Very Vanilla CS and surrounded it with the flowers and leaves from the kit.  A few Pearl Basic Jewels finished it off.

Inside the card, I stamped the sentiment in Cajun Craze ink onto a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Very Vanilla and used Stampin’ Seal to adhere it inside the card. Just for fun, I added a little pumpkin from the kit to the bottom right corner of the inside (adhered with fine-tip glue).

For the next card, I used a Crushed Curry card base with a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Mossy Meadow CS up next.  I used several of the detailed die cuts (3 in Crushed Curry and 3 in Cajun Craze) as the background for my card front and adhered them with fine-tip glue.

Stampin’ Tip: Stamipn’ Up! Fine-Tip glue is great for very detailed die cuts and tiny little pieces.  The precision tip allows you to apply small amounts of glue.  The cap includes pin to keep the tip clear and prevent drying.

For the focal point, I stamped the hat in Memento Black ink onto a circle that was die cut from Very Vanilla CS using the Stitched Shapes Dies. Next, I colored the hat using the Stampin’ Blends.  The circle was adhered to the card front and a few leaves from the kit were tucked behind the circle and adhered with glue from the fine-tip glue pen.

Inside the card, I stamped the sentiment in Pumpkin Pie ink onto a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Very Vanilla CS and used Stampin’ Seal to adhere it inside the card. Just for fun, I added a few flowers and leaves from the kit to the bottom right corner of the inside.
