I’ve seen these guys on Pinterest alot, not sure who came up with the idea, but it sure is a cute one. These handmade Cookie Monster card and Elmo card are super easy to make too!
I started with a card base and the largest circle framelit that is the scallop circle. Put it through the big shot with the top of the circle going over the top of the card so it doesn’t cut off the fold. This gives the circle a flat top, but it opens that way. Since the eyes go there, you don’t notice how flat it is. 🙂
The eyes are done with the one-inch circle punch in Whisper White cardstock and the 1/2-inch circle punch in Basic Black card stock. The nose for the red character is made with the small oval punch in Pumpkin Pie cardstock. A smaller circle framelit put through the big shot with Basic Black cardstock cut in half down the middle gave me the mouth for both characters. I cut out a circle of Whisper White to glue to the inside, so that I could include a note.
So there you have it – two super cute cards ready for little ones in just a few minutes!
Happy Punching,
Lisa
