Hi there stampers!  I hope you enjoyed your weekend…  They are always SO SHORT to me!  But, there are alot of military out there that don’t get weekends off.  So, I have to learn to appreciate what I have.  My weekends off and my freedom.  Therefore, today’s card is for our troops.  Thank you for your service.  Not just on Memorial Day, but every day!

My upline, Mary Fish, does this fun thing in our private (just for Stampin’ Pretty Pals) facebook group, where she asks for samples and then the “bandit” picks one to award a prize to.  She had said “Bandit thinks you SHINE and are all Star Stampers! (hint, hint, wink, wink).” and this card popped into my head.  I just never got around to actually doing the card until this weekend.

TIP:  Sign up with me and you are included in all of the special stuff by Mary Fish of Stampin’ Pretty AND Lisa Pretto of Ink Big Academy. Plus lots of one on one from me!  Sign up to earn money or just to buy at a discount – choice is yours and you can do so for as low as $50!! (1/2 price ($50) deal works thru June 30th)  Find out more HERE.

This card has a Real Red card base and then I used the Stampin’ Trimmer to cut a 3.5″ x 2.25″ hole out of the top. (I lined it up on the 1″ mark on my trimmer and used the ruler on the blade track to keep it one inch from each side there too.  I then cut a 5″ x 3.75″ piece of silver glimmer paper and cut a 3.75″ x 2.5″ hole out of that.  Then I adhered the silver glimmer paper to the cardbase, making my frame.

I then went looking for my Star framelits and couldn’t find them…. 🙁   So I went on line and printed out a photo of them and hand cut my stars out of Night of Navy and Whisper White.  (Hey, you have to do – what you have to do, right?)  Then I embossed the stars with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  I stamped after embossing – but a smart idea would be to stamp and then emboss – you get a clearer image that way.

The inside of the card has a 4″ x 5.25″ Whisper White layer that I stamped the “Godspeed” in Real Red and the dog tags in Basic Grey.  When the card is closed the Godspeed is centered in the window and you can’t see the dog tags until you open it.

As always – all the supplies needed to make this card can be purchased in my online store – see links below.

Don’t have time to make one yourself?  I sell my finished cards and take special orders!  Email me.
