Hi Stampers.  For today’s I was playing around with the Wetlands stamp set.  This cards are all very similar – yet each give a different look.

This card starts out with a Wild Wasabi cardbase, a 5.25″ x 4″ layer of Marina Mist and a 5″ x 3.75″ layer of Whisper White (attached with dimensionals).  For this card I used the Work of Art stamp set to get the two swooshes (yes that’s a stamp) in Wild Wasabi and Marina Mist then stamped the birds in black Staz On.  The brush/grass on either side was stamped in Wild Wasabi.

For this card the middle strips of Wild Wasabi and Marina Mist are painted on with the Aqua Painter.

Stampin’ Tip:  I squeezed the ink pad together while it was shut, then when I opened it a small amount of ink was on the inside lid of the stamp pad.  I then used my Aqua Painter to pick up some of the ink and paint onto my card with it.

This card uses the painters tape technique.

Stampin’ Tip: I used the blue painters tape for this technique, it’s not as sticky (kind of a post-it note adhesive). I used two strips about 6″ long and folded a little bit of each end over to give me “handles”.  I then pressed the sticky side of the tape onto my ink pad pressed a little, moved it over and pressed a little more (to be sure I had 4″ of ink on my tape).  Then I pushed the tape down onto my cardstock and rubbed it. When I removed the tape the ink stayed.  Kinda cool huh?  I’ll get a video out on that soon.

So, there you have it – three cards that are very similar yet, very different.
