Hi Stampers! Have you ever had a need for a specific card and were unable to find just the right stamp or saying? This is where My Digital Studio (MDS) can come in really handy! This week Pixel Mavens DigiChallenge issued this sketch challenge and I thought it would be the perfect change to show you how I make a hybrid card.

I wanted to send an extra special card to my Stampin’ Up! hosts. This was one of those occassions where, despite having ALOT of stamps, I couldn’t fine EXACTLY what I wanted. That’s where MDS (My Digital Studio – Stampin’ Up! digital software) comes in. This was the sketch we were given:

I typed up the saying in MDS (My Digital Studio – Stampin’ Up! digital software) and printed it out onto Whisper White cardstock. As you can see, I was not only able to type out what I wanted it to say, but I could change the font, the size, the color (the colors in MDS match our other Stampin’ Up! products – so color match was a snap!) and even did a drop shadow on the words to give it a little extra “pop”.

I layerd this onto a Perfect Plum cardbase, to match the Perfect Plum in the work “awesome” in my sentiment. I then cut a few strips of scrap cardstock in Perfect Plum, Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant and cut a little triangle out of the bottom of each one. (.5″, .75″ and 1″ wide)

Stampin’ Tip: To cut the little triangle out of the bottom of those strips, I put the strip into the square punch and used one of the corners to cut it out.
Across the top is a 5.25″ x 1″ strip of Silver Shimmer paper and a 1/2″ strip of Elegant Eggplant layered over the top of that. This card was really simple and easy to make and I love the look of it. I will definitely be making more of these!
Happy Stamping!

Such a pretty card!!! Got to love the Glimmer Paper!
Thank you! I love the glimmer paper too! Such good quality too, the glitter doesn’t flake off like some of the stuff I’ve used in the past. 🙂
