Happy Monday, my friends! I’m determined that this week will be better than last week! I’m starting off my week by working on some custom orders. One of the tasks on my plate is to work on some Quincenanera invitations. This isn’t one of my invitation ideas, I’m just playing around with this set. Did you know we have an entire catalog of Spanish stamps? Ask me and I can send you one!
This card has a tempting turquoise card base, a 5.25″ x 4″ layer of Silver Glimmer Paper, a 5″ x 3.75″ layer of Elegant Eggplant and a 4.75″ x 3.5″ layer of Whisper White.
Stampin’ Tip: To save on the silver glimmer paper and make the card weigh less and save on postage, I cut a 4.75″ x 3.5″ hole out of the middle of the Silver Glimmer paper. I can use that piece on future projects. This also works great if you need a punch of a certain color. I could have punch a bunch of butterflies from the Elegant Eggplant layer and once I put the Whisper White over the top, you can’t tell. How cool is that?
For the stamping, I used the Quincenanera stamp set. I stamped the girl in Memento Black and used the Elegant Eggplant marker to trace over the top of her dress and color in the flowers. (Note: I wasn’t really happy with how it came out, I think I should have used the Black StazOn ink and used the Aqua Painter to give a softer outline to her dress. Blendabilities would work great too.) The title was stamped in Elegant Eggplant. For the sentiment on the little circle in the lower right, I colored on the stamp with the was stamped on a scrap piece of Whisper White, punched out with the 1 3/8″ circle punch and adhered with a dimensional.
Happy Stamping,
