Happy Monday, Stampers! My husband is starting his new job in Napa, CA today. He’s a cabinetmaker by trade and found a great job in Napa. It’s a two hour commute one way, so the hope is that we will be moving soon. But, today, my focus is on packing for our trip to Las Vegas this week for my sister in laws wedding. We will also get to see my son and his family too – so I’m pretty excited! Moving and vacation both require luggage – so I have this cute card for you today:

This card is really easy to make. It starts out with a Very Vanilla card base (5.5″ x 8.5″, scored at 4.25″). The next layer is 5.25″ x 4″ in Marina Mist card stock, I stamped the Hardwood background stamp in Marina Mist ink. The next step was to have a 2″ x 4″ piece of Very Vanilla punched at one end with the Stampin’ Up! Scallop Tag Topper Punch. This was matted with a 2.25″ x 4.25″ piece of Early Espresso card stock. I centered this strip of cardstock in the Scallop Tag Topper punch and punched the end, then trimmed off the excess on that end. I stamped the suitcase from the Stampin’ Up! Traveler stamp set using the masking technique and Early Espresso ink.

Stampin’ Tip: To do the masking technique, stamp the image you want in the foreground onto your project. Then stamp that same image onto a post it note and cut it out and place over the image on your project.
Then stamp the second image (the image you want in the background), overlapping slightly. When you remove the post it note, you will have your two images overlapping.

I finished off this card by stamping the “I miss you already” from the Just Sayin’ stamp set and using the Word Bubble framelits to cut it out. It is then adhered with dimensionals. Add a button with glue dots and you are ready to go!
I find the masking technique very helpful, I hope you will too. All the supplies needed to make this card can be purchased in my online store. I’d love to be your Stampin’ Up! demonstrator – I LOVE to spoil my customers!
