Hi Stampers. This week my husband and I drove the scenic route to Napa, California. He had a job interview for a great job, with a custom cabinet shop. (The kind of work he LOVES!) While we were down there, we stopped by the Visitors Center, which was in the heart of downtown. Where all the earthquake damage was. Some buildings were fine, while others were crumbling and red tagged as unsafe to enter.
The damage in downtown Napa is going to take more than a band aid… 🙁 This card is made as a tribute to those brave folks rebuilding in Napa. It starts with a Whisper White card base. Next is a 5.25″ x 4″ layer of Basic Grey that has been run through the Big Shot with the Stylish Stripes textured embossing folder. The red cross was made using a 3″ x 3″ piece of Real Red cardstock. I used a 1″ square punch on each corner to turn it into the cross. I then used a basic band aid, from my medicine cabinet, to wrap around the one side. I’m sorry to say the saying is from a retired set (one I LOVED) called Word Play. But, you could substitute any get well phrase in there. It was stamped in Basic Black on Whisper White cardstock and then cut out on the big shot with the Word Bubbles framelit dies. The cross and the word bubble were adhered to the card with dimensionals giving it that “pop”.
Here are just a few pictures of downtown Napa, more than a week after the quake:
Stamped Blessings, my friends!
