Happy Monday, Stampers!  I’m sorry I’ve been MIA the last week or so.  I made the bright decision to do EIGHT craft fairs this holiday season and move from Ukiah to Rohnert Park, CA (about 70 miles south).  Wowza am I overwhelmed!  Good thing I have Stampin’ Up!  I think it’s the only thing keeping me sane.  There is nothing like sitting down at my craft table and blocking out the world to play with paper, ink and stamps!

I had purchases some of the battery operated tea lights for a project for the craft fairs that I never got around to.  So, I searched Pinterest for another way to use them and saw the easel card idea.  Perfect!
easel-cardThis card starts with a 11″ x 4.25″ card base (scored at 5.5″ and 2.75″).  There there is an additional top layer cut in the same color that is 5.5″ x 4.25″.  I used Night of Navy Stampin’ Up! card stock for this card.  I stamped the tree from Stampin’ Up! Lovely as a Tree stamp set onto a 5.25″ x 4″ piece of vellum with versamark ink and embossed it with silver stampin’ emboss powder.

Next, I opened the card and placed the extra layer of Night of Navy card stock over the top of the front of card (the one with the score line at 2.75″) and centered the #4 label framelit (counting from center out) over both layers and ran it through the Big Shot to cut the oval through both layers.  The layer of vellum was then adhered to the back side of the top layer and then adhered to the bottom half of the top of card, below the score line.

Stampin’ Tip: For the frame on the front of card, I layered the #4 and #5 label framelit on top of each other on a piece of silver foil card stock.  You can make a frame out of any two framelits this way.

On the inside of the card, I adhered a piece of Whisper White, 4″ x 2.25″, towards the top of inside of card. I used the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Bright and Beautiful stamp set and Basic Gray stampin’ pad to stamp onto a 3.5″ x 2.25″ piece of Whisper White card stock.  On the bottom of the inside of card I layered that sentiment onto a 3 5/8″ x 2 3/8″ piece of Night of Navy card stock and then onto a 4″ x 2.75″ layer of silver foil card stock.  All three of those were adhered to the bottom of the interior of the card with dimensionals.  This makes it stick up some, so that it can be  “stop” for the cover of the card when it’s open.
