Happy New Year!!  Welcome to 2015.  I have some exciting news.  Well…. I thought it was exciting.  I’ve been chosen as blogmaster of the Pals Paper Arts Design Team 1.  Today is my first post over there – so you should go check it out!

Today’s challenge is a color challenge.  We were given these colors to use to make a card:
PPA234After much work – nothing like being chosen for a design team to make you ultra critical of your own work – here is my card:
PPA234The card base is Night of Navy card stock (8.5″ x 5.5″, scored at 4.25″).  I then added a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ layer of Wisteria Wonder card stock.  I then added a 5.25″ x 4″ layer of the silver fancy foil designer vellum.

Stampin’ Tip:  Adhesive will show through vellum, so I added glue dots behind four of the silver circles, one near each corner to hide them.

I then used memento ink to stamp the champagne flutes from the Stampin’ Up! Making Spirits Bright stamp set onto a 2.5″ x 2.25″ square of Whisper White card stock.  I colored the champagne with the Wisteria Wonder Blendabilities and then added some 2-way glue and some dazzling diamonds glitter.  I then used the Stampin’ Up! On Film framelit dies and Silver Foil sheets to cut out the camera and the film strip.  I glued the film strip over the champagne flutes and adhered the camera and film strip to the card with dimensionals.  I stamped the Happy New Year onto a scrap of Whisper White card stock and punched it out with the Word Window punch.  I layered that on top of a piece of Wisteria Wonder card stock punched out with the Modern Label punch and then adhered that to the card.  I added just a little bling, by putting a rhinestone in the lens of the camera.

So, there you have it – that’s my first card as a Design Team member for Pals Paper Arts.  Why don’t you create you own card using these colors and upload your card at the bottom of the post on the Pals Paper Arts site for a chance to be one of our “designer picks”!
