Hi Stampers. Happy Monday – time to make the most of it!  Today’s card is for the hunter in your life.
using Rembering Christmas for the deerThose with a hunter in the family, really miss the Remember Christmas stamp set that contained this deer.  While it’s bummer that it retired, the good news is it’s available as a digital download for My Digital Studio.  You could print the deer from My Digital Studio onto the Very Vanilla card stock, cut it down to the size for your card and stamp around it.  They call this a hybrid card.  Half computer generated image, half hand stamped.

The card base is Early Espress, 8.5″ x 5.5″, scored at 4.25″.  The Very Vanilla card stock was cut down to 5.25″ x 4″, to be the next layer on the card. I then stamped the tops of the trees from Lovely as a Tree across the bottom with Early Espresso ink. For the sentiment, I colored on the back of the stamp with the brush end of the marker in Chocolate Chip, Old Olive and Crumb Cake and then stamped onto the card front.  It’s then adhered to the card base with snail adhesive.

For the interior of the card, cut an additional layer of Early Espresso card stock 2.25″ x 5.5″ and a layer of Very Vanilla 2″ x 5.25″.  I used sticky strip on the left right and bottom sides of the Early Espresso card stock layer and adhered it to the card base.  This created a pocket for a gift card. I stamped the trees from Lovely as a Tree in the middle of the Very Vanilla layer and then again to the left and right of that, so the trees went all the way across the card, sponged a little old olive in across the bottom as grass and adhered that the to Early Espresso layer. The sentiment is from the Happy Hour stamp set, stamped in Early Espresso ink. To finish it off, I adhered a 3.75 x 5″ layer of Very Vanilla card stock to the inside of the card, tucked behind the pocket.  This gives an area to write a note to the recipient.

Happy Stamping,
