Hi Stampers,
I’m back with another Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge. This week we have a color challenge. We were asked to create a card with Garden Green, Gold and Black. This combination didn’t come easy to me, but I did it!
This card started with a Basic Black card base, 8.5″ x 5.5″, scored at 4.25″. Next is a layer of 5.25″ x 4″ of Very Vanilla. I stamped the tree from the Stampin’ Up! Sheltering Tree stamp set in Basic Black ink. After rubbing the card stock with the embossing buddy, I stamped the leaves to the tree and the greeting in versamark ink and used gold embossing powder and heat set it with the heat tool.
Stampin’ Tip: When heat embossing you may want to use a cookie sheet or pizza stone under the card stock to ensure even heating, which will prevent the card stock from warping. when I don’t have either of those handy, I heat from the bottom and from the top making sure to spread the heat evenly around the card stock.
I stamped the swoop for the grass in Garden Green ink and then stamped the bicycle (which comes in two separate stamps that stamp one on top of the other) in Garden Green and Basic Black ink onto a scrap of Very Vanilla card stock and cut it out with my paper snips. The bicycle is attached to the card with dimensionals and the Very Vanilla layer is adhered to the card base with snail adhesive. Just as an added touch, I lined the inside of the envelope with Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum.
I hope you get a chance to play along with us and create your own card using these colors and upload it to the Pals Paper Arts site. I’d love to see what you come up with!
Smart and simple! Love the foliage in gold!
