Hi Stampers.  A co-worker had a birthday last week and I found myself in need of a masculine birthday card. I reached for my Stampin’ Up! Guy Greetings stamp set and came up with this card.

classic-carI started out with an Early Espresso card base (8.5″ x 5.5″, scored at 4.25″).  For the layers, I normally use a 1/4″ border, but for this card I reduced it to a 1/8″ border.  Our Stampin’ trimmer has grid lines for every 1/4″, but I just placed the card stock in the middle between two of those grid lines to get the 1/8″ cut.  Onto the 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ layer of Very Vanilla card stock I stamped the shoes 4 times across the bottom in Early Espresso ink. Onto a 3″ x 3″ layer of Very Vanilla card stock I stamped the car in the middle and then the words on top and below the car, also in Early Espresso ink. I layered that onto a 3 1/8″ x 3 1/8″ layer of Early Espresso card stock and attached it to the card front with dimensionals.  I then topped it off with an Early Espresso candy dot in each corner of the top layer and lined the envelope using our Envelope Liner Framelits and Designer Series Paper.

If you have a use for masculine stamps, I highly recommend the Guy Greetings stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  You can purchase it (and the other products used to make this and other cards on my blog) from my online store 24/7.  While you are there, don’t forget to check out the clearance rack and the weekly deals.
