Hi Stampers!  Today’s card does double duty.  I had a co-worker ask me to make a high school graduation card for her using the school colors of Purple and Black – then the Pals Paper Arts team had a sketch challenge.  I mashed the two together and came up with this card to share with you and give to my co-worker for her graduate.  It’s a win-win!

PPA256This card starts out with an Elegant Eggplant card base.  8.5″ x 5.5″, scored at 4.25.  Next I cut two strips of Basic Black card stock 1.5″ x 4.5″ and one strip of Whisper White card stock 2″ x 4.5″.  Since the sketch called for banners, this was the perfect opportunity to use the new Banner Triple Punch – super easy, accurate and FAST!!

I adhered the two Basic Black Banners about 3/8″ from each side and flush to the top with snail adhesive. I then adhered a 1/2″ x 4.25″ strip of silver glimmer paper across the top (as seen in photo).  Next, I stamped the ‘congratulation’ from the Stampin’ Up! Bravo stamp set in Elegant Eggplant ink onto the white banner.  I then adhered this to the middle of the card, between the other two banners, with dimensionals.

At first I thought I was finished, but the card “needed something”.  So I got out a little more of the glimmer paper and punched out a few stars and adhered them with glue dots.  There!  That looks better!  Nothing like a little sparkle to brighten up a card. 🙂

My co-worker was thrilled.  I hope you are too!

Happy Stamping,
