Hi Stampers! I’m back today with another color challenge from the Pals Paper Arts. This week the combo really was a challenge for me. We were given Night of Navy, Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush. This was NOT a color combo I would have pulled out on my own. But, 6 cards later, I finally have something to show you…
This card starts out with a Night of Navy card base 4.25″ x 11″, scored at 5.5″. Next was a Whisper White layer 4″ x 5.25″ adhered with snail adhesive. I used Butterfly Basics stamp set and I stamped the fern in Cucumber Crush ink and the sentiment and honeycomb in Night of Navy ink. I then stamped the flower butterfly in Watermelon Wonder ink onto a scrap of Whisper White card stock and cut that out on the Big Shot with the matching framelit. I used the medium size butterfly from the Butterfly Thinlit dies to cut a butterfly out of Watermelon Wonder card stock.
Stampin’ Tip: I used the big shot to cut out the detailed butterfly using the medium butterfly thinlit. To be sure I got a really good cut, I ran the “sandwich” through the big shot 3 times. I then used the paper-piercing tool to punch out all the little pieces and remove the butterfly from the die. “Paper-piecing tool – it’s not just for piercing anymore”.
I adhered the medium butterfly to the front of the card with monoadhesive and the smaller butterfly on top of that with a half of a dimensional.
I hope my card inspires you to break out stamps and ink and play along with us over at Pals Paper Arts.
Gorgeous way to display the elements of this set and still make it look clean!
Thank you. Like you, I really like the “clean” look. 🙂
I love this set and you created a beautiful card with it!
Thank you!
Your layers with those colors make your card pop! Lovely!
Thank you. 🙂
LOL, sorry, this was my fault (colors)! I love what you did with them ! Beautiful card.
LOL – The colors obviously go well together or we wouldn’t have gotten so many great entries for the challenge. It was just out of my wheelhouse. Guess that’s why they call it a challenge… to break us out of our comfort zone and help us grow. Thank you for that!
A beautiful card made with one of the most gorgeous stamp sets by Stampin’ Up! I will never tie of this set. Well done, Lisa!
Thanks, Katy. It is a beautiful set. Stampin’ Up! gives us SO MANY great sets!!
