Hi Stampers, so friends of mine (fellow Stampin’ Bloggers) are on a brand new design team – Global Design Team.  In order to congratulate them, I’ve decided to play along.  They have changed us to use three Stampin’ Up! colors: Smoky Slake, Pink Pirouette and So Saffron.

welcome-baby-GDPHere is the baby card I created using those colors.  They just said “Baby Girl” to me…  The card base is Smoky Slate – 8.5″ x 5.5″, scored at 4.25″.  Next is a 5.25″ x 4″ layer of Pink Pirouette card stock followed by a 5″ x 3.75″ layer of Whisper White card stock. I used the Stampin’ Up! Something for Baby stamp set and colored directly on the stamp with my Smoky Slate & So Saffron Stampin’ Write markers for the baby carriage and duck.  Using a scrap of Whisper White card stock, I stamped the baby onesie in Pink Pirouette ink and stamped the heart in the middle of the shirt with Pink Pirouette.

Stampin’ Tip: Even though the onesie was Pink Pirouette, the heart (stamped in the same color) appears darker because it’s stamped on top.  It gives a tone on tone effect.  Much like stamping any of our inks onto a card stock of the same color.

I used Smoky Slate and Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Write markers to color the hanger and stamped the “Welcome Baby” from the very useful And Many More stamp set, from Stampin’ Up!

and many moreI cut out the onesie using the matching Baby’s First framelit set and adhered it to the card with dimensionals. Since every girl needs a little bling, I used my two way glue pen and some dazzling diamonds glitter to accent several areas and then added a string of pearls around the neck of the onesie.

I hope I did the new challenge justice.

Happy Stamping!
