Hi Stampers, unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you’ve no doubt seen all the silly controversy over the new Starbucks holiday cup.  I for one, think they made it a plain cup to save them money on design and printing costs, but some silly person has turned it into a really big deal.  I’m a Christian and I don’t think the Starbucks cup affects that one way or the other.  But, I do love the yummy drinks they put in them! Therefore, I had a bunch of these sleeves around and decided to do a new version of the card I shared with you for the Pals recycle blog hop on Earth Day earlier this year.  See that post HERE.

starbucks-red-cupThis card started out with a Chocolate Chip card base, 8.5″ x 5.5″, scored at 4.25″, followed by a 5.25″ x 4″ layer of Whisper White.  Next up was a 4″ x 3.75″ layer of Cherry Cobbler card stock than I ran through the big shot with the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing folder.  Once those three layers were adhered together with snail adhesive, I added the front half of a sleeve from a Starbucks holiday cup adhered with Fast Fuze (it’s stronger than snail adhesive, I thought that would be good since the back is corrugated).  The sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up! Circle of Spring stamp set and was stamped on a scrap of Whisper White card stock with Cherry Cobbler ink.  I punched that out with the 1″ circle punch and layered it on top of a scrap of Cherry Cobbler card stock cut out with the 1 1/4″ scallop circle punch and adhered it with a dimensional.

I think this will make a great card to use when gifting someone a Starbucks gift card. 🙂

All products used in this card (other than the Starbucks sleeve) can be purchased in my online store.  While there be sure to check out the clearance rack and the weekly deals.  This weeks deals are great!
