Hi Stampers.  I love Thursdays, now that I’ve joined a Thursday morning bible study with a wonderful group of ladies.  I made this card for one of our leaders who has been a true prayer warrior for me this last month.  Thank you, Kathy – it’s means the world to me!

poppy-blessingsThis card starts out with a Wild Wasabi card base, 11″ x 4.25″, scored at 5.5″. Next I added a 5.25″ x 4′ layer of pumpkin pie card stock and adhered that to the card base with snail adhesive.  I then cut a 4.25″ x 2.5″ layer of Wild Wasabi card stock and then a 4″ x 2.25″ layer of Whisper White card stock and adhered that to the Wild Wasabi layer and onto the card base, slightly to the right, with snail adhesive.  Onto the Whisper White card stock I stamped the California poppies.  This was easily done with the Stampin’ Up! Wild About Flowers stamp set.  The flowers came in two stamps.  I stamped the bottom (leaves and stem) with Wild Wasabi ink and then the flowers (which was a separate stamp) in Pumpkin Pie ink.  This is a perfect example of when it’s great to use photopolymer stamps.  Because the block and the stamps are clear it was very easy to line up the flowers and place them perfectly!

The greeting is from the stamp set, Blessed by God, by Stampin’ Up!  I stamped that in Pumpkin Pie ink onto Whisper White card stock.  I then used the circle framelit collection to cut out the saying and then the next size up circle framelit to cut out a circle from Wild Wasabi card stock and then mounted them together and then onto the card, in the lower left corner. The butterfly was made using the Stampin’ Up! bitty butterfly punch and Pumpkin Pie card stock.  I accented the butterfly by adding a few pearls to the middle as it’s body.  I angled the wings slightly up and adhered the body to the card with glue dots.

I’m hoping she really likes the card.  It was made with alot of love.
