Hi Stampers.  Today’s card is one I did at a party last month.  They LOVED the decorative edge cut at the bottom of the top layer.  This look was achieved by using the Botanical Builder Framelit Dies from the 2016 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog.

This card started out with a Smokey Slate card base, 11″ x 4.25″, scored at 5.5″.  I then set the card base in the big shot with the leaves edgelit die at a slight angle about .5″ up from the bottom of the card on one side and about 1.5″ on the other side. (Note: These are not exact measurements – just put it where it will look good.) See photo below:

I stamped the “splats” from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set in Smoky Slate ink onto the card front.  For the interior of the card I used a 5.25″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White card stock.  I stamped the flowers from the Bloomin’ Love stamp set in Rose Red ink in the lower right corner.  This allows it to be seen when the card is closed.  The sentiment was stamped in the center of the interior layer so that it would be hidden with the card closed.  We had chosen a Valentines Day saying, but really this card could work for just about anything…

The flower on the front of the card was made using the Botanical Builder framelit dies, too.  The base flower was cut from a scrap of Rose Red card stock.  The base and additional cuts in the petals (allowing them to pop up) were cut from ONE die.  It was designed to pop up the petals.  How cool is that?!?!  The center of the flower was cut from another die from the set using a scrap of Pink Pirouette card stock.  The veins of the leaf are from the matching Botanical Blooms stamp set, they were stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink onto Pear Pizzazz card stock and then cut out with the matching framelit die.  I assembled the flower by layering the pieces on top of each other and attaching with glue dots.  It was finished off with a rhinestone in the center of the flower.  (The Stampin’ Up! rhinestones and pearl accents already have a glue dot on them, so they are self adhesive. Pretty smart, huh?)

I hope you find inspiration in my card and go make something beautiful today!  Happy FRIDAY!!

Happy Stamping,
