Hi Stampers. I’m a day late with my Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge. I have to admit, my first attempt at this sketch ended up in my trashcan, but I’m pretty happy with this one. I wanted to be sure to use some new product from the just released 2016 Stampin’ Up Holiday Catalog. The cute stockings and the sentiment come from the new stamp set called Hang Your Stockings. It has a coordinating framelit set called Christmas Stockings Thinlit Dies. Buy them together and save 25%.
This card starts out with a Basic Black card base – 8.5″ x 5.5″, scored at 4.25″. Next is a 4″ x 5.25″ layer of Crumb Cake card stock that was embossed using the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I stamped the tree from Lovely As a Tree stamp set in Garden Green on a piece of Whisper White card stock 2.25″ x 3″. I lightly sponged around it in Daffodil Delight ink to give the effect of warm lights in the room. I layered a 2.25″ x 3″ piece of window sheet over that and then cut the window frame out of Whisper White card stock and layered that over the other two pieces. (The window sheet gives the look of a glass window).
The stockings were stamped in Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler & Garden Green ink. (I fussy cut these with the paper snips – forgot about the framelit and it was simple enough…) I then adhered them to the window ledge with glue dots. The sentiment was stamped in Night of Navy and then cut out with the new layering ovals framelits dies. (Those are a great option for those of you who miss the oval punch and scalloped oval punch – these do similar cuts with many size options!!)
The inside of the card has a 4″ x 5.25″ layer of Whisper White. The sentiment of the card is stamped in Garden Green ink. The holly was two stamps. I stamped the leaves in Garden Green ink and the berries in Cherry Cobbler ink.
So there you have it the first of my 2016 Holiday cards. All products used are listed below with links to my online store. I look forward to sharing many more with you!
Your first holiday card of the season is a winner for sure, Lisa! Those little stockings hanging from the window sill are adorable!
Thank you, Ann!
