Hi Stampers. As some of you know, I work as an Accountant at a small boutique winery in the Napa Valley (Crocker & Starr Wine Co.). I love to combine my love of wine and my love of card making. Today’s card is a perfect example of how I mix the two. I can’t tell you how excited I was when I saw the Tuscan Vineyard stamp set in our latest annual catalog. It pairs well with my love of everything wine making (that starts with memories of my father making wine in the garage and making it so good that he won many awards!).
Today’s card starts out with a Crumb Cake card base, 8.5″ x 5.5″, scored at 4.25″. Across the bottom I used a 1.5″ x 5.5″ strip of Blackberry Bliss card stock (which recently retired – sorry, I’m having trouble giving it up, it’s a yummy color! You could substitute Elegant Eggplant card stock), followed by a 1.25″ x 5.5″ strip of Very Vanilla card stock onto which I stamped the corks multiple times in Crumb Cake ink. These were all glued together using snail adhesive.
The focal point of this card is our company logo. It’s a rectangle cut out of a left over label from bottling. I mounted it on a rectangle of Very Vanilla and mounted that onto a rectangle of Blackberry Bliss with stampin’ dimensionals. The Blackberry Bliss rectangle was adhered to the card with snail adhesive.
For the interior of the card, I used the Tuscan Vineyard Stamp set to stamp the grapes in the upper left corner and the corkscrew in the lower right corner. The sentiment is from the retired From the Herd stamp set. I needed it to say “from all of us” since we were sending it to a wine club member from the Crocker & Starr staff.
I hope my card inspires you too look at wine labels in a new and creative way.
