Hi Stampers.  Today I’m sharing with you a pretty rainbow butterfly birthday card.  This card uses two stamp sets and the Hello You thinlit dies.  It’s a quick and easy card that’s very pretty.

The card base is Basic Black card stock 8.5″ x 5.5″, scored at 4.25″.  The top layer is Whisper White 5.25″ x 4″, but then I used my paper snips to cut a random swoop across the bottom of the layer.  Well, it was random the first time. LOL

Stampin’ Tip: I actually made a lot of this card.  I even used it in a class a few times.  People in the class didn’t like the idea of cutting a random swoop (and I wanted them to match), so I did it on a piece of acetate and used that as a template.  We placed the template over the Whisper White layer and drew a faint line with a pencil and cut on the pencil line and erased off any excess pencil line.

The “happy” was die cut on my Big Shot using the Hello You Thinlit dies using Basic Black card stock and then glued to the Whipser White layer using the fine-tip glue pen.  The “birthday” was stamped using a stamp from the Crazy About You stamp set (love that set! It’s so versatile and had words for all kinds of occasions!) and Tuxedo Memento Black ink.

I stamped the butterflies in Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise and Rich Razzleberry ink onto Whisper White card stock and punched them out with the bitty butterfly punch.  I attached the butterflies along the swoosh using a mini glue dot or two in the middle of the butterfly and a small rhinestone on the top of the body.  I bent the wings up a little, so they look like they could take flight at any moment.

I layered the inside of the card with a 5.25″ x 4″ layer of Whisper White.  I stamped a small butterfly in the bottom right with Rich Razzleberry ink, to bring the theme from the outside of the card inside.

I think this will make a beautiful birthday card for someone.  If you want to make this card, I have listed all the products used below with links to my online store.  I’d love to be YOUR Stampin’ Up! demonstrator!

Happy Stamping,
