Hi Stampers. Happy Sunday, I hope you are having a blessed day!  I’m back today with another challenge.  Today’s challenge is a theme.  The folks over at Global Design Project have challenged us with a theme: Winged Creatures.  In looking through my stamps, I have many creatures with wings.  I settled on Stampin’ Up!s Fairy Celebration.  I love this stamp set, but haven’t used it much. This was the perfect push to get me to use it!

Global Design Project Theme: Winged Creatures

Here is the card I created with my “winged creature”:
Stampin' Up! Fairy Celebration card in a box pop up explosion card by Queen B CreationsTo decorate the box, I used Cherry Cobbler Background Designer Series Paper and then stamped onto a Whisper White layer for each flap.  I used the fairy on the cherry branch for the rear panel and colored it in with the many marvelous markers.  I stamped the other fairies from the Stampin’ Up! Fairy Celebration stamp set onto Whisper White card stock and colored them in with the many marvelous markers and then cut them out with the paper snips. I mounted those fairies on small strips of acetate to attach them to the cross members in the middle of the box.  I also punched out a few small flowers with the (retired) itty bitty accents punch pack and the DSP.  I mounted those onto acetate strips with glue dots and attached them to the cross members with glue dots.  I added a basic rhinestone to the center of each flower for a little more sparkle. The front flap was stamped with stamps from the Fairy Celebration set in Basic Back ink and accented with a few Basic Rhinestone jewels.  For the flap on the right, I used a sentiment from the Happy Happenings stamp set and punched out some confetti with the Sprinkles Punch using Cherry Cobbler card stock.  The confetti was attached using the fine-tip glue pen.

To fill in a little more in the middle pop up section, I stamped some flowers from the Stampin’ Up! Wild About Flowers stamp set using Daffodil Delight  and Wild Wasabi ink.  I also punched some butterflies out of Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper with the bitty butterfly punch.  I also used a two way glue pen and dazzling diamonds glitter to the fairy wings and some of the larger flowers.

This card ends up being approx 5.5″ x 6″ when folded flat.  I used the same Designer Series Paper and made a custom, made to fit, envelope with the Stampin’ Up! Envelope Punch Board.

If you’d like to try your had at making this card yourself.  The card in a box pattern (in PDF format) click here for PDF and  videos I made on how to make this card and envelope can be found on this prior post – click here.  Links to the products I used is below.  If you are ever in need of a custom made card, made by someone else, I would hope you would consider my Etsy store.

Happy Stamping,
