Hi Stampers. After much rain, an interview for a possible new job and a trip to the ER for kidney stones, I’m back! For today’s card I used the Tide stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! 2017 Occasions catalog. This set makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. I’m a true water person and we live just a half hour drive from the beach. This set works for so many options! It works for male and female, young or old and just about any occasion.

This card starts with a Soft Suede card base (8.5″ x 5.5″, scored at 4.25″). I stamped onto a 5.25″ x 4″ layer of Very Vanilla. I started by stamping the sand, from the High Tide stamp set, in Crumb Cake ink. This stamp image has the indent in it for the lighthouse. I stamped the 2 step light house using Dapper Denim ink for both stamps. For the bottom stamp I inked it up and stamped onto scrap paper and then onto my layer. I then inked up the top layer and stamped direct to the layer. I used Wild Wasabi ink for the weeds and Marina Mist ink for the water. The birds (on land and in sky) were stamped using Smokey Slate ink and the sun was stamped using Crushed Curry ink.

Stampin’ Tip: In order to get a two tone effect on 2-step stamping you can “stamp off” on scrap paper once and then onto the layer (as described above). This will give you two tones of the same color.

I like to make the inside of the card coordinate with the outside of the card. To do this, I used a 5.25″ x 4″ layer of Very Vanilla card stock, like I did on the front of the card. I used the same sand stamp as on the front, but stamped it upside down, to avoid the indent for the lighthouse. For color, I added Wild Wasabi weeds in each lower corner. This card could be used for any occasion. I chose to make this a birthday card by using the “Happy Birthday” sentiment from the Better Together stamp set and stamped it in Marina Mist ink.
