Hi Stampers. Today is an exciting day in our home town. It’s the Annual Butter & Eggs Day Parade & Festival in Petaluma, California. Petaluma, California used to be known as the “egg basket of the world” 100 years ago and they still celebrate it today. This made me want to break out my recently retired “Hey Chick” stamp set from this years Sale A Bration.
This card starts out with a Tangerine Tango card base 8.5″ x 5.5″, scored at 4.25″. I then stamped the Hardwood background stamp onto a 5.25″ x 4″ layer of Crumb Cake card stock with Crumb Cake ink. I adhered a 1.25″ x 4″ strip of Designer Series Paper across the middle of this layer and then a .5″ x 3.5″ strip of Tangerine Tango card stock with a flag cut on the end with Paper Snips. Onto this strip I stamped the Hey, Check sentiment in Memento Black ink. I then stamped the chicken in Memento Black ink onto Very Vanilla card stock and cut them out with different size circles with the layering circles framelit dies. I adhered the circles to the Crumb Cake layer before adhering it to the card base. I did this so I could have them hang of the edge a bit and be able to trim off the excess with my paper snips from the back side. I colored the chickens hair, beak and legs with Stampin’ Write Markers.
For the interior of the card I used a 5.25″ x 4″ layer of Very Vanilla card stock with Crushed Curry ink sponged on the edges. I stamped the egg and the sentiment in Memento Black ink in the middle of this layer. Supplies used are listed below.
I hope you have something planned for the day – enjoy your weekend!
