Hi Stampers. Today I have a beautiful card made using a stamp set bundle that I was not sold on at first. I know – now that you see a card made from it you are wondering what I was thinking. Well, yes, me too! I didn’t think much of it in the catalog pre-order we were offered in early May, so I didn’t order it. Then I started seeing one beautiful card after another made with this bundle posted on Pinterest, so I HAD to have it!
This is one of the three cards we will be making at class in Petaluma tonight. Twice a month I teach a class in Petaluma (the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month). Each guest makes 3 cards each of 3 designs. The cost is just $15. It’s only $10 if the guest brings their own scissors, adhesive, etc or FREE if they place a Stampin’ Up! order for $35 or more in Stampin’ Up! product.
This card has the fold on the left side. The Marina Mist card base is 11″ x 4.25″, scored at 5.5″. The front layer is 4.5″ x 4″. I used a scrap piece of card stock to cut a circle out of the middle to use as a mask. I placed the mask over my Whisper White layer and used Crumb Cake, Marina Mist and Soft Sky ink pads and sponge wedges to sponge the color onto the Whisper White layer inside the circle. I then removed the mask ans stamped the tree branch in Early Espresso ink and the flowers in Powder Pink.
I used the adirondack chair die from the coordinating framelit die set and a piece of DSP from the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack. There are so many great options in the stack that make the chair look more realistic! I adhered the chair to the layer with multi-purpose liquid glue. The Whisper White layer is than adhered to the card base (towards the right side of the card) with snail adhesive.
I used a 14″ piece of 5/8″ Whisper White Organza ribbon to wrap around the card on the left side of the card. I used a little bit of snail adhesive under the ribbon above and below the knot before I tied it. That helped the ribbon stay put allowing me to make a clean knot.
