Hi Stampers. Welcome back to another international blog hop with Global Stamping Friends. Stampers from all over the world are sharing with us a holiday project in July BUT using a set that isn’t designed specifically for holidays in at least one of their projects. For my project I chose to use Stampin’ Up! Baby Bear stamp set with Real Red and Garden Green.
This card begins with a Real Red card base. I added Garden Green cardstock for the mats, followed by layering Whisper White cardstock on top. For the larger Whisper White piece, I stamped the three-step baby bear using Crumb Cake ink. To create dimension, I stamped the first baby bear image off onto scrap paper before stamping onto the cardstock for a lighter effect. The next two images were stamped in full-strength Crumb Cake ink. The bow was created with a two-step stamp in Real Red ink on Whisper White scrap, then fussy cut with paper snips and attached to the baby bear with glue dots. I also stamped the sentiment in Real Red ink. Finally, all the layers were adhered to the card using snail adhesive.
The inside of the baby bear card is lined with a piece of Whisper White card stock and the sentiment and bow were stamped in Real Red ink.
This card could easily be done in other colors and be for a baby shower or congratulation or baby’s first birthday card. I hope this gives you a new way to look at your existing stamps and give them a slight twist for an occasion they may not have been designed for originally. Let’s get creative!
