Hi Stampers. Happy 4th of July! Hopefully you are doing something fun and exiting with your friends and family or relaxing at home and enjoying some quiet time. Either way I hope you are fully blessed today!
I sent out a newsletter today with some exciting news and a few pictures of our vacation to Idaho this long holiday weekend! Click here to view the newsletter.
Today’s card – while being a great 4th of July project also features a new product I want you to be aware of – the multipurpose adhesive sheets. See them HERE. These can easy get overlooked in the new catalog, but are fabulous for adhering the more detailed thinlets.
Stampin’ Tip: The adhesive sheets are easy to use. You adhere the adhesive sheet to the card stock, run through the big shot with your die and then just peel off the back to expose the adhesive and stick it directly to your card. No fuss and no mess!
This card starts out with a Basic Grey card base (8.5″ x 5.5″, scored at 4.25), followed by a Night of Navy layer 5.25″ x 4″. Next up is a 5″ x 3.75″ layer of Whisper White card stock that I adhered the “flag” to before adhering it to my card. The flag is made using the waves from the Swirly Scribbles framelit dies by Stampin’ Up! I cut out 3 of them in real Red card stock using the “Stampin’ Tip” above. I then added the small square of Night Navy (approx. 2″ x 2.25″) with the white stars (made using the star punch from the retired itty bitty accents punch pack). I trimmed the top and bottom of the Whisper White layer using the Real Red “stripes” as my guide, making the flag appear as if it’s waving in the wind.
I used the Number of Years stamp set and Large Number framelit dies to create my own sentiment. I stamped the word ‘happy’ and the ‘th’ from the stamp set onto scraps of Whisper White card stock in Night of Navy ink and cut them out with some retired punches (plus a little extra fussy cutting) and then sponged Night of Navy ink on the edges. I then cut the number four out of Night of Navy card stock with the large numbers framelit dies. These were all adhered to the card using foam adhesive strips.
The interior of the card has a 5.25″ x 4″ layer of Whisper White card stock. I stamped the ‘fireworks’ in the upper right and lower left corner using one of the stamps from the recently retired Flower Patch stamp set. They were done in Real Red and Night of Navy ink.
Now get out there and enjoy the BBQ and fireworks! Happy 4th of July!
