Pals Stampin' Up! blog hop badge

Hi Stampers.

Welcome to the Pals September 2017 Blog Hop. Thank you so much for joining us today. This month our theme is “My Favorite Holiday”.  Sit back and enjoy the view while the Pals treat you with projects for the upcoming Autumn and Winter holidays.

Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.

When asked what my favorite holiday was I was stumped.  I don’t really have a favorite holiday.  I like the spirit of the holiday season but not the commercial aspect of the whole season.  I find it annoys me and I look forward to New Years just so all the advertising and push to be materialistic will stop!

But, I did find myself enjoying this last Labor Day.  I got to spend the day at home with my hubby snuggled up on the couch watching TV and drinking my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season.  There is something about a Pumpkin Spice Latte that makes me feel all warm and cozy and ready for a cool afternoon of relaxation…

So I chose to do a gift card holder, for a coffee gift card, featuring a Pumpkin Spice Latte.

This gift card holder starts with a Chocolate Chip card base 11″ x 4.25″, scored at 5.5″.  There is an additional score line 2.5″ inches from one of the sides.  Next there is Pumpkin Pie card stock cut at 5.25″ x 4″, 2.75″ x 4″ and 2.25″ x 4″.  Next up is a 5″ x 3.75″ layer of Very Vanilla and Wood Textures DSP 2.5″ x 3.75″ and 2″ x 3.75.  The coffee cup and lid from Merry Cafe is stamped in Basic Black ink onto Very Vanilla card stock and cut out with the Coffee Cups Framelits on the Big Shot. I then used Cajun Craze ink to stamp the greeting on the coffee cup and the small coffee cup on the inside.  These stamps are also in the very versatile Merry Cafe stamp set.

On the inside, I used my 1 3/8″ circle punch to punch a half circle where the gift card will go.  I did this after adhering the layers, but before I used the tear and tape on the top and bottom making the pocket to hold the gift card.  The half circle allows you to grab the card to remove it.

Gift cards are all the rage now days.  With many of our family out of state and shipping costs being what they are I can see sending this cards out for Birthdays, Christmas, Thank You cards… Just all sorts of occasions!

Thank you so much for hopping with the Stampin’ Pretty Pals today. Please take a minute to mark your calendar for our next hop on October 11, 2017 for “Wicked Folds”. Don’t forget to leave us a comment. We’d love to hear what you have to say about our Favorite Holiday.  Bye the way, what’s your favorite holiday?

Happy Stamping,
