Hi Stampers. I’m using today’s Wild About Flowers card to thank you for being part of my Stampin’ Up! business as Stampin’ Up! embarks on new year and my husband and I embark on a new season of our life here in Twin Falls, ID.  While we are enjoying our new adventure, our thoughts are in Sonoma County due to the historic Wine Country Fires that have taken 42 lives, 8,400 structures and 245,000 acres. As my small way of trying to help I will be donating half my commissions for the month of October to the fire victim fund.

So in honoring my California home, today’s card is California Poppies and a Thank You to those of you placing orders to help me raise money to help them recover.

This card starts with a Pumpkin Pie card base – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″. I then used my Big Shot and the Brick Wall textured impressions embossing folder to add a brick texture to a 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer of Very Vanilla card stock. Next I stamped the two part flower from the Stampin’ Up! stamp set Wild About Flowers onto a 2″ x 3 3/4″ layer of Very Vanilla card stock.  The stem of the California poppies, I stamped in Garden Green ink and the poppies in Pumpkin Pie ink.  I wrapped a piece of Daffodil Delight cotton ribbon around that layer and tied the knot.  This was then layered onto a 4″ x 2 1/4″ piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock. To add the focal point, I attached this to the front of the card using stampin’ dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment onto a 1″ circle in Pumpkin Pie ink and mounted it on a 1 3/8″ garden green circle. I punched the circles were made using Stampin’ Up! punches.  Super easy! The circles were then adhered to the card front using a stampin’ dimensional.Stampin' Up! Wild About Flowers California Poppy Thank You Card Handmade Greeting Card by Queen B Creations

On the interior of the card I used the same stamps and ink to stamp the California poppies. In the upper left and lower right corner.  I stamped the sentiment in the center using Pumpkin Pie ink.Stampin' Up!
