Hi Stampers – Happy New Year!  Well, almost…. can you believe it?!?!  I hope you enjoyed a blessed Christmas with family and friends.  We had a beautiful Christmas here in Twin Falls, Idaho.  We got beautiful new snow over the weekend, including Christmas Eve night.  So we woke up to a beautiful snow filled yard.  My hubby and I stayed in all day and enjoyed our electric throw blankets and fancy coffees from our new Ninja Coffee Bar.

I can’t believe that this weekend is already New Years Eve!  The older I get – the faster time flies by! Confession time: I still don’t have my Christmas cards out in the mail.  What is it they say about the shoemakers family having no shoes??  I know!  Shame on me!  So, I’m finishing up some Happy New Year cards that I’m sending instead.

Stampin' Up! Large Number Framelit Dies Happy New Year 2018 glitter handmade card by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

I just LOVE the large number framelit dies and this project was perfect for them!  This card stats out with a Basic Black card base.  I then cut a 5 1/4″ x 4″ layer of Gold Glimmer paper and used the large number framelit dies to cut the 2018 out of it.  I then set the numbers aside, for the top and adhered the Gold Glimmer paper to the card front.  When I adhered the 5″ x 3 3/4″ layer over that it covered the holes – saving me glimmer paper.  The star explosion was cut from Silver Foil Paper with a retired Star Blast thinlit die. The star explosion  was adhered to the Whisper White layer with the fine tip glue pen. I then added a 5″ x 3/4″ strip of Black Glimmer paper giving me a base for the numbers to sit on.

I adhered the numbers to the front of my card with mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  If you don’t have the mini Stampin’ Dimensionals yet, you are missing out!  They worked great for this!  I’ve spent years cutting down dimensionals to use on my smaller pieces and now I have these pre-cut!  The word “happy” was stamped in the upper left corner with memento black ink.  I used a stamp that said “happy birthday” and only inked the “happy”.  Happy 2018!
