All that sparkles and shines stampin pretty pals blog hop banner

Hi Stampers. Welcome to the Pals December 2017 Blog Hop featuring “All that Sparkles and Shines”. Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.

Nothing says sparkle and shine like Stampin’ Up! Glimmer paper.  Pair that with some Silver Foil paper, silver sparkle washi tape and silver heat embossing and it really sparkles and shines!

Stampin' Up! Swirly Snowflakes with Snowflake Sentiments handmade Christmas card by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

I just love silver and Marina Mist together!  This card starts out with a Marina Mist card base (8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″). I then layered a 5 1/4″ x 4″ layer of Whisper White card stock with a strip of silver washi tape wrapped around that layer about 3/4″ up from the bottom over that.

The Swirly Snowflakes thinlit dies were used to cut the snowflakes out of Silver Glimmer paper and the layer under that from Silver Foil paper.  It was then attached to the top of the Whisper White layer using glue dots to hold the two items together and then to the card.   The sentiment from the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set was stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed with silver stampin’ emboss powder onto Whisper White card stock.  The sentiment was cut out with an oval from the layering ovals framelit dies. I used a slightly larger oval with scallops from the same set to cut a layering oval from Silver Foil paper.  The sentiment was attached to the card with stampin’ dimensionals.

Stampin’ Tip: Make sure to use the embossing buddy to reduce the static on your card stock before heat embossing.  It will get rid of all those extra little bits of powder that don’t belong.  I also will heat from the top and bottom of the card stock moving my heat tool around to heat the card stock evenly to avoid the paper curling up.

The inside of the card has a 5″ x 4 1/4″ layer of Whisper White card stock.  That layer was heat embossed in silver stampin’ emboss using a snowflake in the lower left and upper right corner and a coordinating sentiment in the center.  This card sparkles and shines all over!  It’s even prettier in person!  I will include a shopping list below with links to purchase what you need to make this card yourself.
