Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop Badge

Hi Stampers. I have a fun card today using heat embossing and Brusho Crystal Colours. I’m writing this up Wednesday nights because, as you read this I am heading to Las Vegas, NV for a fun Stampin’ Up! event. I will return with new ideas, lots of excitement, some new products and my very own printed copy of the new 2018-2019 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog!!

Demonstrators will be able to order from this new catalog on June 1, 2018, but demonstrators get to order from this new catalog on May 2nd.  Demonstrators get their hands on the new products almost a full month before the general public.  If you are in the US, you could be one of the lucky ones that gets to order early by joining the Creative Royalty team.  If your wish list for our current products is over $100, you can save money with this option and get the many demo perks without ever having a party or selling to anyone.  Ask me about this great offer now!

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Day Brusho Butterfly handmade card by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

For this blog hop we were asked to do a card with “a little extra”.  So I decided to do Brusho Crystal Colours on a butterfly heat embossed onto watercolor paper. This card starts with a Dapper Denim card base, 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″.

Stampin’ Tip:  If you like the color Dapper Denim, or any of the other 2016-2018 In-Colors (Peekaboo Peach, Sweet Sugarplum, Flirty Flamingo and Emerald Envy) – order them NOW!!  We know they are retiring on June 1st, but they will be “while supplies last”.  It’s very likely that they will run out of ink, cardstock and embellishments in these colors BEFORE the June 1st date.

The next layer is Lemon Lime Twist cut to 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″, giving a small 1/8″ border, rather then my regular 1/4″ border.  Next up is a 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ layer of  Whisper White CS that was adhered at an angle on the card front.

I stamped the sentiment in Dapper Denim ink onto a 3/4″ x 4″ strip of Whisper White CS.  I then cut a strip of Lemon Lime Twist CS 1″ x 4″ and a strip of Dapper Denim CS 1 1/4″ x 4″.  The ends of all three strips were flagged with the Banner Triple Punch and layered them together and adhered them to the card front in the lower right corner.

The focal point is the butterfly from the Beautiful Day stamp set.  I stamped this butterfly in Versamark ink onto watercolor paper and then put White Stampin’ Emboss Powder over it and heated with the Heat Tool.  I sprinkled (too much) of the Brusho Crystal Colours (blue and green) over the butterfly and then used the Stampin’ Spritzer to add water to the watercolor paper. The watercolor paper soaked up the color, but the white embossed areas resisted the color and stayed white.  I them cut out the butterfly with my paper snips. The butterfly was attached to the card front with mini glue dots in the center of the butterfly. To make the butterfly appear to be floating, I fluffed up the wings. As an additional accent I adhered 3 Clear Faceted Gems.

The interior of the card is lined with a 5 1/4″ x 4″ layer of Whisper White CS.  Before adhering it to the interior of the card, I stamped part of the butterfly in Dapper Denim ink in the upper right and lower left corner. I love to decorate the inside of the cards to match the outside.
