Hi Stampers.
Today our blog hop is all about the new 2018-2020 Annual Stampin’ Up! Catalog. As demos, we have been able to order some of these products in advance of the new catalog going live, so that we can work up samples to show you how great these new products are. I am using the Animal Outing stamp set. All demos who attended an OnStage event (our convention) got this set for FREE (along with other new products) just for attending. It is an adorable stamp set!
I combined this stamp set and the eclipse technique to create this adorable hand stamped baby card.
This card starts with an Old Olive card base, 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. Next up is a Whisper White layer 5 1/4″ x 4″. The rhino, from the new Animal Outing stamp set, was stamped in Smoky Slate ink, the kangaroo and giraffe were stamped in Crumb Cake ink and the tree branch with the frog was stamped in Old Olive ink. The grass is Old Olive ink added with a stamping sponge and the sky was added with Pool Party ink with a stamping sponge.
I colored the animals with the watercolor pencils and then used the blender pen to smooth out the colors. Then I used the large letter framelits to cut out the word “BABY” from this layer. Leaving the letter to the side, I adhered this layer to the card base with multipurpose liquid glue. I then placed the letters in the cut out spaces (without glue), The center pieces from the A and the Bs was then glued to the card base with liquid glue. The letters were then taken out, mini dimensionals were adhered to the back of the letters and placed them back in the space. This gives them a raised effect. This is what they call the “eclipse technique”.
For the inside of the card, I used a layer of Whisper White 5 1/4″ x 4″, and stamped the leaves in Old Olive ink and the giraffe in Crumb Cake ink. The sentiment is also from the Animal Outing stamp set and was stamped in Memento Black ink.
I hope this card gives you a glimpse into some of the fabulous new products that are right around the corner. All customers who have ordered from me in the last year, should expect to receive their very own copy of this new catalog (along with some other goodies) in May.
