Hi Stampers. Happy Sunday! I hope you have had a great weekend. Why do they take so long to get here and then go by so quickly?!?! Today our blog hop is saying goodbye to the 2016-2018 In-Colors.
The 2016-2018 In-Colors are:
- Dapper Denim
- Sweet Sugar Plum
- Peekaboo Peach
- Emerald Envy
- and Flirty Flamingo (which is actually being added to the new color lineup in the revamp)
If you like any of these colors, hopefully you have stocked up, since the usually sell out rather quickly. While you are stocking up on your favorite colors, there are a few more colors leaving us May 31st. (My son’s birthday – he turns 27 – Happy Birthday, Troy!)
Now, on to my card! I chose to use Sweet Sugarplum as my retiring color. I combined it with the Petal Palette stamp set and coordinating framelits (which is sticking around – although the “bundle” where you save 10% by buying them together goes away May 31st) and the Lots of Labels Framelit set which is retiring).
This card starts with a Sweet Sugarplum card base – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. Next I used a 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer of Whisper White. I stamped the background using my Stamparatus – if you don’t have one of these things – you want one!! I place the stamp on their once and then just moved down the hinges and re-stamped to get this perfectly spaced background of Sweet Sugarplum dots. It was quick and easy!
Next up, I die cut a piece of Sweet Sugarplum piece of cardstock with the Lots of Labels framelit dies. I then used the next size down and die cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamped the sentiment in Sweet Sugarplum ink. Those were adhered together and then to the card front with snail adhesive. The bird and flowers were stamped in Memento Black ink, colored with the Stampin’ Blends markers and cut out with the coordinating framelits. Those pieces were then attached to the card front with glue dots.
The inside of the card is lined with another 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Whisper White CS. I used Old Olive ink to stamp the leaves in the lower left and upper right corners and then sentiment was stamped in the center with Sweet Sugarplum ink. This layer was then adhered to the inside with snail adhesive. I’m thrilled with how it came out – I hope you are too!
