Hi Stampers. Welcome to the Global Stamping Friend Anniversary Blog Hop – we’re 2! It’s hard to believe we are been going for 2 years – so lets celebrate it! I chose to breakout my Snowflake Sentiments stamp set and make a tealight box and a matching card.
I saw a video online by a fellow Stampin’ Up! demo from the UK, named Linda Parker. She made this adorable tealight box and I had to try one and this blog hop was the perfect excuse to post it for you. I will be making more and making a tutorial for it in the near future, so stick around.
The card started with a Cherry Cobbler card base – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. Next was a 4″ x 5 1/4″ of Shaded Spruce CS. I stamped the snowflake in Shaded Spruce ink on the right side of that layer. On the left side of the card I layered a 1 7/8″ x 5″ piece of Under The Mistletoe DSP over a 2″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Old Olive CS. The layers were glued together with liquid glue due to the small borders, it gives some extra time to wiggle the layers into place.
For the focal point I stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink onto Whisper White CS and cut it out with the Stitched Shapes Oval dies. I layered that over a Cherry Cobbler piece cut out with the Layering Ovals Framelit Dies. It is then attached to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The inside of the card has a 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer of Whisper White CS. I stamped the snowflake in Shaded Spruce in the lower left and upper right corner. The sentiment is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink.
This is the tealight box. It’s made out of a 10″ x 6 1/8″ piece of Cherry Cobbler CS. The sides are double thickness making it a very study little box. As I mentioned above, I will be making a tutorial for this soon.
This is the tealight box open. It holds 4 tealights. I wrapped each tealight with a piece of washi tape. If you would like to make one of these for yourself, I have included a list of supplies to make this project below with links to my store to purchase them.
