Hi Stampers. I don’t know about you, but I so ready for Fall!  This was an unusually hot summer for Idaho and I don’t do heat well.  I always say, I can always put more clothes on when I’m cold – I can’t take anymore off when I’m hot! Thankfully, our home has A/C, so I’ve spent a good part of the summer indoors stamping!  This gave me time to play with new techniques and revisit some old techniques.  Today’s card uses the baby wipe technique.  This technique has been around a while and it works perfectly for these Fall Leaves.

This card starts with a Mossy Meadow card base – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. The main stamping layer is a 5 1/4″ x 4″ layer of Very Vanilla CS.  For the stamping I used Stampin’ Up! Colorful Season stamp set.

The main idea of the baby wipe technique is to take a wet baby wipe and add ink from Stampin’ Up! ink refills and then use that as your ink pad.  I put mine on a plate from the Big Shot to be sure the ink did not seep through to my work surface. I chose a variety of fall colors – Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Merry Merlot. I randomly added ink to the baby wipe and then inked up my stamps using this as my ink pad.

I used two of the leaf stamps from the Stampin’ Up! Colorful Seasons stamp set.  I chose the “Just Breathe” stamp as my sentiment. I made sure to have some of the leaves hang off the edge, making it look more natural. After the stamping, I adhered this layer to my card base with snail adhesive.

The interior of the card has a 5 1/4″ x 4″ layer of Very Vanilla CS adhered with snail adhesive.  As an accent – and to have it coordinate with the outside of the card.  I used the Wood Textures DSP and the tree branch die from the Seasonal Layers Thinlit Dies. It really was a quick and easy card to make.
