Hi Stampers. I hope you are enjoying all the specials that Stampin’ Up! has had lately. It’s amazing how much cool stuff they offer! This month it’s Bonus Days! That means that for each $50 you spend in August you earn $5 to spend in September! It’s an amazing deal and I hope you take advantage of it! You are going to want those extra $5 coupons when we release the Holiday Catalog September 5th!
I’ve already placed my first order from this amazing catalog and should have my new goodies next week! (an added perk of being a demonstrator!) I’ve also submitted my order to have copies of this new 2018 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog to be mailed to my customers this month, so if you don’t receive your copy by September 1st, please let me know!
Today’s card features the stamp set, Petal Palette and the coordinating Petals & More thinlit dies. It starts with an Old Olive card base – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. Next I used a piece of Whisper White CS cut to 5″ x 3 3/4″. I used the leaf stamp to stamp leaves in Old Olive ink onto this layer. It was stamped 4 times, once in each corner with the top leaf in the corner and the bottom of the stem in the center (which gets covered up by the oval layer). After adhering this layer to the card, I cut a strip of Calypso Coral CS 1/4″ x 7″ and adhered this diagonally to the card front. The ends were then sniped off with the paper snips.
The roses were stamped in Memento black ink onto a 3″ x 2 1/2″ piece of Whisper White CS and colored with the Calypso Coral and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. This was then die cut with the coordinating die in the Petals & More Thinlit Dies set. I cut an oval from a 4″ x 3″ piece of Calypso Coral CS with the Layering Ovals Framelit Dies. The roses were adhered to this oval with multipurpose liquid glue. Stampin’ Dimensionals gave the oval a bit of a lift.
Inside the card, I used a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″, layer of Whisper White CS. Before adhering it to the card, I stamped the leaves in Old Olive ink and the sentiment and dots in Calypso Coral ink. (One benefit of stamping before adhering to the card is, if you make a goof, you just flip it over and stamp on the other side.)
