Hi Stampers. I hope you enjoyed a long holiday weekend full of “Wonderful Moments”. I had a wonderful weekend of time with my husband. He works some long hours and we had three full days together. He got off work early on Friday and we went to the local fair. We did some errands, played Pokemon Go and hung around the house Saturday and Sunday. I made a beautiful banner, using a new stamp set from the 2018 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog, that I will be sharing with you later. Monday he did sort of have to work, we went up to Ketchum, Idaho to measure a kitchen and bath for a side job. He makes beautiful cabinets! I had never been up to Ketchem, Sun Valley, etc. It was BEAUTIFUL!! The weather was perfect and his client was super nice. She took us to lunch at a wonderful restaurant and gave us the royal tour of the area. It was a wonderful day!
This card looks complicated but it’s really super simple! It starts out with a card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. I scored down 1″ from the top at bottom of the front of the card at 2 1/8″ and ran it through the big shot using the Layering Ovals Framelit Dies with the top plate covering 1/2 of the oval. (See the video below, it will make much more sense after you watch that.)
On the front of the card I used a 2″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Twinkle Twinkle DSP adhered to the left side of the card. I then cut a scalloped circle on the big shot with the Layering Oval Framelit dies out of Balmy Blue CS and then a slightly smaller one from Petal Pink CS. I cut a slightly smaller straight oval out of Whisper White CS and stamped the pregnant lady from the Wonderful Moments stamp set onto that oval in Balmy Blue ink. It’s so beautiful it doesn’t even need to be colored.
The interior of the card is a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Whisper White CS, with a 1/2″ x 4″ strip of Twinkle Twinkle DSP adhered to the right side of that layer – to make it coordinate with the front of the card. Its a great finishing touch. There are many great sentiments in the Wonderful Moments stamp set. I have left this card blank for now and will add a sentiment later when I go to use it.
This card really is easy to make. I hope you give it a try. Recently I showed how to create these fancy fold cards with just basic framelits on Facebook Live on my Business Facebook Page and uploaded that to my YouTube Channel, take a look:
