Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop Badge

Hi Stampers. Welcome to the Global Stampin’ Friends Circles Blog Hop.  We will all be featuring cards and projects with circles in them. I’m busy packing to head out of town, away from the threat of snow and into the tropics!  We are flying to Florida first thing tomorrow morning and then sailing out of Miami on Monday and will be cruising the Western Caribbean for a week!  I’m so excited!!

Since  I’m feeling cold today, I chose to work with the Spirited Snowmen set from Stampin’ Up!.  This “fall” was WAY TOO SHORT!  We already had our first snow a few weeks ago. 🙁

Stampin Up Spirited Snowmen love never melts handmade circle card by Lisa Ann Bernard of Queen B Creations

This card starts with a Tranquil Tide card base, 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″.  For the snowflake background, I adhered a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of the Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper using multipurpose liquid adhesive. (I used the liquid glue because I wanted the glue all over, so when I cut the circle out of the middle the edges still stuck to the card front.)

Using the Layering Circles Framelit dies and the big shot, I cut a circle out of the upper center of the card front.  I then cut a slightly larger scalloped circle out of Tranquil Tide CS, using the same Layering Circles Framelit dies and the big shot. Using the same circle die from the original circle, I cut a circle out of the scalloped circle – this gave me a frame. I adhered the frame around the circle cutout in the card front using multipurpose liquid glue.  The sentiment was stamped in Tranquil Tide ink onto a 2 3/4″ x 3/4″ strip of Whisper White CS.  The sentiment was then layered onto a 3″ x 1″ strip of Tranquil Tide CS and that was adhered to the card front using stampin’ dimensionals.

Placing the interior 4″ x 5 1/4″ inside the card (without adhering), I made small little marks with a pencil so I would know where to stamp the snowmen.  The snowmen were stamped in Memento Black ink and colored with the Stampin’ Blends. I used Wink of Stella over all the areas that are “snow” to make it shine a little.  It came out super cute!
