Hi Stampers. Welcome back to my blog. Today we are going to play around with a very popular bundle in the 2018 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog – Alpine Adventure. I’ve been making cards for a store in Sun Valley and this bundle works perfectly for that little ski town.
This card starts out with a Real Red card base, 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″. Next, this card has an Early Espresso layer, 4″ x 5-1/4″ followed by a layer of Real Red CS 3-3/4″ x 5″. Onto this Real Red layer, I stamped the Buffalo background stamp in Basic Black. I did this on the Stampin’ Up! Stamparatus, so that I could ink it up and stamp it multiple times, giving me a good impression. I stamped the sentiments (from the Merry Christmas to All stamp set) onto Very Vanilla CS scraps in Early Espresso ink. The skis were stamped onto Crumb Cake CS using Soft Suede ink and the ski boot brackets were stamped in Early Espresso ink. I fussy cut around the sentiments and mounted them on scraps of Early Espresso CS and fussy cut around them again.
For the front of the card, the sled, skis and snowshoes were all cut out using the coordinating Alpine Sports Thinlit Dies. The sled and snowshoes are two pieces, a top and bottom, cut out of Crumb Cake and Early Espresso CS. I sponged a little Soft Suede ink onto them to give them a more wooden look. For the sled I used a piece of Gold Cording to make the rope you hold onto and there is a bow made of linen thread on the snowshoes. The snowshoes and sled also have a bit of Wink of Stella on them to simulate snow. The base of the sled, the skis and the bottom snowshoe are all glued to the card front with liquid glue. The top of the sled, the sentiments and the top snowshoe are attached with stampin’ dimensionals.
The inside of the card is lined with a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla CS. Onto that CS, I stamped the snowflake several times in the upper left and lower right corner using Smokey Slate ink. I’m just tickled at how awesome it came out! I hope you love it too! I also hope that you got your hands on this set before it sold out – it’s selling like hot cakes!
If this card inspires you, I would appreciate it if you would leave me a comment. If you don’t have a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator – I would love to be YOUR demonstrator!
