Hi Stampers. Do you ever need a card for an occasion and can’t find the right stamp set? Don’t panic. Just think outside the box. I needed to create a patriotic card and did not have a current patriotic stamp set. So, I had to think… What do I consider patriotic? Red, White and Blue – that’s easy. I have cardstock and ink for that. Then I was looking over my other stamp sets and thought this couple from the Silhouette Scenes stamp set and thought that looked like an embrace of a soldier coming home. That’s patriotic, right?!?! Now I’m off and running…..
Card #1:
This first card I came up with combined quite a few items from my stampin’ stash. As stated above, the couple is from Silhouette Scenes. The Night of Navy stars were from the Stitched Stars Dies and colored in with a Real Red Stampin’ Blend. Sentiments were die cut in Real Red CS using the Well Written and Hand Lettered Prose Dies.
Stampin’ Tip: The Stamparatus was a great tool in making this card because it allowed me to stamp the couple multiple times ensuring that it was good and dark.
I kept the inside of the card by stamping the stars (from So Many Stars) and the sentiment (from Well Said) in Night of Navy ink.
Card #2:

For my FB Live video I was looking to re-create card #1, but chose to use the stars that popped out of the die, instead of die cutting it again. I like this look better…

Stampin’ Tip: When adhering the letters to spell “home”, I started on the right with the “E” and worked my way left to the “H” to be sure I had enough room.

Inside the card, I stamped the couple again and the sentiment from the same, Silhouette Scenes, stamp set. (Again, LOVE my Stamparatus!!)
Card #3:
For this card I made an American Flag – well, as close as I could get with my supplies. The red and white stripes were on the backside of the Let It Show Christmas DSP. A square of blue and a few white stars and poof – it’s a flag.

I kept the inside red, white and blue with stars. The sentiment is from Well Said – a great all around set of sentiments and the stars are from the Christmas set – So Many Stars.
