Hi Stampers. Happy Monday! I’m back with another Honey Bee card! Do you love Monday’s? I do! I have the BEST JOB EVER and I get a fresh start and a burst of energy each and every Monday. I’m always looking for people who want to do a job they love and join my Creative Royalty team. Our team has hobby and business demos on it – all a welcome – no strings attached!
Today’s card is similar to last Friday’s card in that I used the Honey Bee bundle. Instead of a shaker card, this is a regular card using lots of layers. The sentiment is heat embossed in Gold and a few enamel dots were added to make it “pop” and draw your eye to it.
I wanted a richer look for this card, so I used a Basic Black card base, followed by layers of Goil Foil Paper and the Golden Honey Specialty DSP. I love this DSP and it was FREE! Apparently, alot of other people loved it too, because we have run out, twice. Sale-A-Bration items are always “while supplies last” so if you see something you love – it’s best to get yours early! The hive is popped up on dimensionals and swarming with honey bees.
Stampin’ Tip: To save you money on your stampin’ supplies, I suggest die cutting shapes out of the center of the Gold Foil Paper. In this example, you could cut the larger gold layer, then die cut the next gold layer out of the middle of the first one. You could then die cut the honeycomb die cuts out of the middle of the that smaller layer. Once you cover it up with the DSP layer, you won’t see any voids in the foil paper. While it looks like alot of foil paper was used but, there is only one 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece and it’s all cut from that. It also helps keep the weight low, so it could save you on postage, too.
Inside the card, in addition to stamping the sentiment and the honey bee, I have added a strip of DSP and a few of the hexagons that fell out of the honeycomb die cut used on the front of the card.
