Hi Stampers. Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities Blog Hop for March.  Today we are all creating alternatives for the No Mater The Weather Paper Pumpkin kit.  This month kit was faboulous!  We got an additional stamp set because it’s Paper Pumpkin’s 7th birthday!

I chose to make a card and a tootsie pop holder.  This was a very cheery kit, but my alternatives are a little less than cheery. LOL  We’ve all been quarantined and I worked on taxes today… Hence the Basic Gray base. LOL

My card:

I chose to use the door as the focal point of my card.  It’s stamped in Memento Black ink, colored with the Watercolor Pencils and blended using the Blender Pen. The door started out being not nearly dark enough, so I dipped the tip of the Real Red watercolor pencil into a drop of water a few times and went over it again.  Much better!

The background the large cloud and rain stamped in Smokey Slate ink.  Don’t you love those scalloped and stitched rectangles?  Those are from the Stitched So Sweetly dies. I used the blue flag and the circle (sponged with some Balmy Blue ink) from the kit and stamped the sentiment in Balmy Blue ink.  A few Pretty Peacock Rhinestones finished it off.

Inside the card, I continued the rain theme by stamping the clouds and rain across the top and the boots at the bottom right.  The sentiment and the pattern on the boots were stamped in Balmy Blue ink.  The adorable bunny and the tiny heart (covering a boo boo) are from the paper pumpkin kit.

My Tootsie Pop Holder:

The tootsie pop holder is made using a 2″ strip of Basic Gray CS and the Delightful Day Tag Topper Punch.  The flowers and boots are from the paper pumpkin kit.  They were already colored, so it made it quick and easy.

Inside there is a Tootsie Pop and I held it closed with a few glue dots and then made a pretty little bow with some of the twine from the kit.  I plan to give them to a neighbor as encouragement that there are indeed “brighter days ahead”.
